Arsenal Transfer News: Latest on Jurgen Damm and Danilo Pereira Rumours
Arsenal will launch a move for Mexico winger Jurgen Damm as they look to improve their options out wide, while a Gunners scout has confirmed the club's interest in Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira.
According to Mexican broadcaster Medio Tiempo (h/t Metro's Will Giles), the north Londoners are battling with Paris Saint-Germain and Sporting Lisbon for Tigres speedster Damm, who is valued at £10.1 million (€13.7 million).

The wings have been damaged by injuries this season for Arsenal, and the less-favoured Joel Campbell started in Saturday's 4-0 humiliation at Southampton, with youngster Alex Iwobi providing cover.
ESPN FC writer Cesar Hernandez is a fan of Damm, but he recently added his concern there is too much expectation being placed on the 23-year-old:
It's only been six months since Damm moved to Liga MX giants Tigres from Pachuca, but anticipation is already building around whether he'll make the move to one of Europe's big leagues in the near future.
As confirmed by ESPN FC Mexico, the player has a European passport due to his German family roots and is "desperate to go," too:
Damm brings an added benefit for Arsenal in that he won't be cup-tied for the club's Champions League round-of-16 clash against Barcelona, presenting even more reason to chase a January deal.
Meanwhile, ex-Arsenal midfielder turned club scout Luis Boa Morte has spoken of Porto anchor Danilo, telling Portuguese newspaper O Jogo just how highly he rates the player (h/t Metro's Will Giles):
"I went to Madeira, but not to watch [Ruben] Neves. He’s an 8, not a 6. I’ve watched Danilo since he was 15/16 years at Benfica. His development has been impressive, but I wasn’t surprised by it. Danilo has quality for a different challenge, he just need to be given the opportunity. Things are already easy for him at FCP.
"
It's fair to say Boa Morte feels the 24-year-old is ready to broaden his horizons, and not only would a move to the Emirates Stadium do that, but it would also give the Gunners something they're desperately seeking.
Metro's Portuguese expert Jan Hagen recently compared Danilo to Sporting counterpart and fellow Portugal international William Carvalho in terms of playing style:
Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla are sidelined for the next few months, and manager Arsene Wenger saw a midfield pairing of Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini outplayed against Southampton.
Danilo would add some much-desired steel to the Gunners' engine room until Coquelin is ready to make his return, with Wenger's side sorely missing a vital specialist in their setup until he's fit again.
