Speaking with Bild (h/t Reuters, via Yahoo), Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge discussed the impending managerial change.
"We are thankful to Guardiola for all he gave our club and hope to celebrate more success in the current season," Rummenigge said. "With Ancelotti we have another very successful coach coming to Bayern. We are looking forward to working together."
Ancelotti is one of the most decorated managers still active in the game today, having won 17 trophies in his managerial career, spanning spells at some of Europe's biggest clubs, including Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
Among his haul of silverware are three domestic league titles in three different countries and, most impressively of all, a record three Champions League titles from four appearances in the final—most recently Real Madrid's famous Decima.

The 56-year-old will inherit an incredibly successful team that has won the Bundesliga in the last three seasons and will likely have made that four by the close of the current campaign.
Calm, collected and generally unflappable, Ancelotti is a contrasting character to the animated Guardiola on the touchline. Nevertheless, he is an excellent man manager who is adept at balancing egos, proving highly popular with players and motivating them to succeed.
In terms of style, Ancelotti is known for playing an exciting brand of attacking football, which should get the best out of Bayern stars such as Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski.
