Louis Van Gaal, Wayne Rooney Talk Manchester United Goal Worries After PSV Draw
Manager Louis van Gaal and star forward Wayne Rooney both expressed their concerns regarding the club's lack of goals after yet another scoreless draw on Wednesday, this time against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League.
The Red Devils dominated possession and had a number of chances to take the lead against the Dutch side, but once again, no United players were able to break the deadlock.
As shared by Tom Williams of Agence France-Presse, Van Gaal admitted he is worried about the lack of killer instinct, although he remains convinced it's only a matter of time before the goals return:

Speaking to BT Sport (h/t Daily Express' Charles Perrin), Rooney echoed a similar sentiment:
"It is a game we were capable of winning and we played some good stuff in the first half and we were unlucky not to go in up at the break.
In the second half we showed a lack of composure so that was not great, overall a draw was probably fair but this is what we did not want.
[...]
We are not ruthless enough - we have to score more goals as a team, they were able to nearly hit us on the break a few times, a learning curve but we cannot go on saying that. We have to change these games into victories.
"
Jesse Lingard missed the biggest chance of Wednesday's match, firing over the bar from point-blank range, while Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin also had several opportunities to hand United the lead.
Following Wolfsburg's 2-0 win over CSKA Moscow, the Germans now lead Group B by a single point, and PSV sit just one point behind second-placed United.
Qualification will have to be secured on the final matchday, and United face the difficult prospect of beating Wolfsburg in Germany. In the event of a draw, PSV can still finish ahead of the Red Devils.

According to WhoScored.com, four of United's last seven matches have finished in a scoreless draw, and they haven't scored more than two goals in one match since their 3-0 win over Everton back in October.
As shared by the Blizzard's Elko Born, Van Gaal told Dutch TV he thinks some of his players lack confidence:
Per the Daily Express' Uche Amako, he also blamed his midfielders for insufficiently supporting the forwards and acknowledged beating Wolfsburg in Germany will be difficult:
"The midfielders were dropping too much and that is why we didn’t support too much our front players. We have created in one half three open chances and there difficult chances.
I cannot say every game in the interview with you that we didn’t finish but it is the truth.
It will be very difficult because Wolfsburg are the best team in our group to play against, but it is possible.
"
The good news for United is that Martial looked as mobile and active as ever, despite sitting out United's 2-1 win over Watford after he returned from the international break with an injury.
It looks like said injury won't bother the Frenchman moving forward, handing United's attack a boost as they prepare to face Premier League leaders Leicester City on Saturday.
