Real Madrid Transfer News: Isco Targeted by Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo Rumours

Gianni VerschuerenNov 25, 2015

Juventus are reportedly considering a loan move for Real Madrid star Isco, who is growing increasingly frustrated with his role in the Spanish capital and could seek more consistent playing time with an eye on the upcoming UEFA Euro 2016 tournament.

That's according to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Football Italia), who said Real have placed a €40 million valuation on the midfielder, but the Bianconeri are more interested in a loan deal. Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato.com's Edo Dalmonte) believes Isco's release clause is €50 million, but he could be available for less.

Here's a look at why the Bianconeri are so interested in his services:

The Spain international has started nine of Real's La Liga matches so far in 2015-16, per WhoScored.com, but he has largely filled in for the injured James Rodriguez and started the 4-0 loss against rivals Barcelona from the bench.

According to Marca, manager Rafa Benitez's decision to start Rodriguez over the in-form Isco didn't sit well with the latter, and he now believes he may never be a regular starter at the Santiago Bernabeu:

"

He wasn't expecting it. On Friday, he believed he would be playing and that the one left out would be James. But things turned out to the contrary and Isco in some respects feels betrayed by Benítez. He did not go to join the Spain squad because of a few slight injuries, and with his thoughts on playing against Barcelona. He had some spectacular performances during training and his teammates noted that he was well in with the manager. James had been out for two months injured and was playing for Colombia, thousands of miles away.

However, once again Isco came up against the fact that he is not an automatic choice at Real Madrid, and he is starting to think that he never will be. He believes he was good enough to have started against Barcelona.

"

The 23-year-old has found it difficult to nail down a regular spot in the starting XI since moving to Madrid from Malaga in 2013, despite impressing greatly whenever he has the chance. Constant transfer speculation has been the logical result, and English giants Manchester City are reportedly also very interested, per the Daily Mirror's Ed Malyon.

Isco has yet to give any indication he's open to a move away from the club, despite the constant speculation, but rumours he's unhappy with his role are steadily increasing. With the European championships around the corner, it's easy to see why he might entertain the idea.

As a creative playmaker who likes to float in pockets of space, he's not particularly well-suited to Benitez's philosophy, which requires midfielders and wingers to attack spaces and play the counter-attack.

La Liga blogger Sergi Dominguez thinks Rodriguez is far more suited for such a role:

A loan move seems unlikely, however. Isco is a pivotal depth player for Los Blancos, and his versatility means he's usually the first man off the bench in case of injuries. It makes little sense to send such a player out on loan, severely weakening the squad in the process.

Paris Saint-Germain to Offer Cristiano Ronaldo Huge Wages

The rumours linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain aren't dying down, and according to the Daily Mirror's John Cross, the French giants will tempt the Portugal international with a huge wage packet worth £250,000 per week after taxes.

The report follows just days after super agent and close friend Jorge Mendes reportedly met with PSG on Ronaldo's behalf, per talkSPORT.

Ronaldo has been Real's marquee player ever since he arrived at the Bernabeu in 2009, and until recently, the idea Los Blancos would even entertain the idea of selling the 30-year-old sounded absurd.

That's no longer the case, however, and Bleacher Report's Dean Jones explains why the club could now decide to cash in on its biggest star:

Ronaldo will be 31 by the end of this season, but he's still one of the world's top players and expected to play at a high level for several more seasons. He would instantly become the biggest star in club history should he move to Paris, eclipsing even Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is currently PSG's top earner, per Cross.

The PSG project is as much about prestige as it is about silverware, and signing one of the sport's top attacking talents to a massive contract fits right into Les Parisiens' philosophy.
