Cristiano Ronaldo's Former Club Retires No. 7 Jersey Despite His Leaving at 10
The club where Cristiano Ronaldo spent two seasons between the ages of eight and 10 has retired its No. 7 jersey in his honour.
Portuguese third-division team Andorinha, based on Madeira, the island where the Real Madrid superstar grew up, have taken the decision just months after he rejoined as an honorary member.

"The decision was approved by members of the general assembly and the club president Jose Bacelar, who confirmed on Friday this means that from now on no player can wear the number 7 jersey, except Ronaldo himself or a direct descendant, like his son.
The Real Madrid player has been a honorary member of Andorinha since July.
Ronaldo played in the team from Madeira, his native land, for two seasons between the ages of 8 and 10.

The Portuguese forward moved to Nacional and then Sporting Clube de Portugal, with whom he made his professional debut in 2002. He played for six years at Manchester United before a mega move to Real Madrid back in 2009.
