What to Watch For: 10 Holiday Sneaker Drops

Giancarlo Ferrari-KingNov 17, 2015

Holiday sneaker shopping is going to be a doozy this year. With Adidas, Nike, Under Armour and other brands stepping up to the dish looking like a prime Mark McGwire, the home runs are going to be consistent.

The annual holiday period always brings about the best kicks of the year. Exclusive models and unique colorways of our favorite sneakers come back with a vengeance, and we all rejoice because of it.

Per usual, the routine here is simple: We're going to analyze 10 sneakers that you need to watch out for this glorious holiday season. Without further delay, let's get started.

Nike: LeBron 13 'Horror Flick'

1 of 10

The floodgates have already opened up when it comes to Nike's LeBron 13 model. We've seen the King himself rock player-exclusive models on the court, and now we have the dope "Horror Flick" version to salivate over.

Created to honor LeBron James' passion for slasher movies—the guy really loves them, as he once expressed on Twitter—the "Horror Flick" is a rare LeBron 13 model. The red splatter effects around the midsole stir up visions of Freddy Krueger.

It's obvious that whatever LeBron wants, he gets from his deal with Nike. That usually means the fans win. Out now, the "Horror Flick" LeBron 13s are a nice way to start off the holiday buying season.

Jordan Brand: Air Jordan I 'Black and White'

2 of 10

Timeless. How else can you describe the Air Jordan I?

Jordan Brand's holiday release calendar is a plateful of goodness—something we'll dive into later. But one of the brightest spots on here is this year's rendition of the Air Jordan I.

An all-black, pristine coat covers the better part of the shoe. But the true eye-popping feature of this sneaker comes by way of the simple, yet needed all-white sole.

There's something about a basic color combo that we've seen before that works differently with this Air Jordan I. The leather is primo, and the sole makes people notice the shoe even more.

Fans of the Air Jordan I way of life will deem this holiday version to be a can't-miss shoe. Set for a "Cyber Monday" release, expect this to be a difficult pickup for sneakerheads across the globe.

Adidas: Yeezy Boost 350 'Moonrock'

3 of 10

Kanye West's partnership with Adidas has turned the sneaker world on its proverbial head. No matter what drops, each Yeezy model we've seen to date has been met with the same dosage of hype. Instant sellouts and customers complaining on social media have become the new normal for any Kanye West release.

The low-top Yeezy Boost 350 has been getting dosed with an inordinate amount of colorways. A "Moonrock" version was the latest to emerge from Kanye's camp on November 14.

As expected, the shoe was gone in seconds, leaving countless consumers—including this guy—disappointed. The "Moonrock" continued the storied tradition of Yeezy sellouts and has made the shoe a reseller's dream just in time for the holiday season.

Nike: Air Trainer Cruz 'Wheat'

4 of 10

New York Giants star Victor Cruz getting his own shoe was big news. He's proved to be a fashion-forward sneakerhead. But when the actual silhouette of the Air Trainer Cruz surfaced, everything changed.

This shoe represents so much more than simply another signature sneaker. Its design, cohesive structure and ability to effortlessly cross over into the streetwear category is something Nike's been missing for a while.

The initial Air Trainer Cruz drop is set to come in a "Wheat" colorway on November 20. It's a fitting way to start the collection, considering wheat-based sneakers have gotten a whole lot of notoriety as of late—Nike has already equipped two Air Force One models with a "Wheat" overlay.

Future drops and spirited colorways make the Air Trainer Cruz a must-cop shoe. Even longtime supporters of the Philadelphia Eagles can get down with this sneaker.

Adidas: King Push EQT

5 of 10

Kanye West's Yeezy line isn't the only collaboration Adidas has mastered. Fellow G.O.O.D. Music artist Pusha T has been representing the Adidas way of life dating back to last year when he released the King Push EQT.

The original, all-white version of this sneaker evaporated from shelves quickly, proving to be a tremendous success on a cultural scale.

On November 27 we all get a chance to cop the sequel. It will be Pusha's second EQT model. This version comes cloaked in a black, grandeur shell. The materials are high-grade, giving consumers a real deluxe feeling.

Like West's kicks, expect Pusha T's shoe to be a challenging pickup for all sneakerheads. This G.O.O.D Music veteran has a track record of success when it comes to sellouts.

Jordan Brand: CP3.IX 'Hornets'

6 of 10

What else is there to say about Chris Paul's CP3.IX model? Jordan Brand went above and beyond with the materials, technological support and overall feel of this particular shoe.

A holiday variant honoring Paul's time spent with the New Orleans Hornets is scheduled for a December 1 release.

People who are feeling that classic Hornets colorway will adore this sneaker. The hyper, almost fluorescent sole and groove marks are a perfect contextual fit with the jet-black leather base.

Structurally, there are few shoes out there that compare to the CP3.IX. So, for all of those currently in the market for a chateau of perfection that your feet will appreciate, you need to heavily considered copping the "Hornets" edition of the CP3.IX.

Under Armour: Curry Two 'The Professional'

7 of 10

Under Armour continues to slay when it comes to their partnership with Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

As the NBA's reigning MVP, Curry was granted his own exclusive pair of sneakers last season. The Curry One quickly emerged as a performance monster.

The follow-up to the Curry One was, of course, the Curry Two. Everything that made the original great was magnified with this edition. Under Armour turned the wearability level up a notch, providing this high-top sneaker with a conforming, secure fit.

On November 20, "The Professional" edition of the Curry Two will be dropped upon us. The sneaker consists of a black upper that's dressed down with a matte approach. But the coolest part—no pun intended—about this sneaker is the ventilation system installed near the toe. It represents a beautiful touch from the design squad over at Under Armour.

Keep it peeled on November 20 for "The Professional" Curry Two. You won't be disappointed if you decide to get your hands on a pair.

Adidas: D Rose 6 'Iridescent'

8 of 10

How do you make an elite shoe even better? By equipping it with an ill colorway, of course.

The Adidas D Rose 6 "Iridescent" takes everything we love about this Boost-laden shoe and gives it a blast of color and energy. Those reflective vibes on the heel strap are enough to make this the best D Rose 6 release to date.

If you're one looking to add these to your on-court collection, make sure to pencil in November 27 on your calendar.

Jordan Brand: Air Jordan XI '72-10'

9 of 10

Holiday traditions make everything better. Frozen mugs filled with eggnog, Christmas movies and eight nights of family and gifts is all we need in this life of sin. Without these things, what else would the world do during those grueling winter months?

Jordan Brand has given us another holiday tradition in the form of an Air Jordan XI. Each passing, wonderful year, the designers at Jordan Brand create a special variant of the XI.

This year's rendition is the "72-10" model, a sneaker built to honor the Chicago Bulls' groundbreaking 1995-96 campaign.

Premium leather, an icy sole and that timeless Air Jordan XI silhouette is all you need to create one of the hottest holiday drops of 2015.

Adidas: Yeezy Boost 750 'Black'

10 of 10

November is set to end on a crazy note when Adidas drops the Yeezy 750 Boost "Black." According to Highsnobiety's Instagram post—featured above—the highly anticipated sneaker is set for a November 27 release.

This will be the second high-top version of Kanye's kicks to surface. We've seen an influx of Yeezy Boost 350 models come to light, but only one 750 to date.

All of that noise changes on "Black Friday." Be ready, because you can best believe that this shoe will be nearly impossible to get your hands on.
