Eden Hazard Reportedly a Potential Key Witness in Eva Carneiro Chelsea Hearing
Chelsea star Eden Hazard could reportedly be called as former club doctor Eva Carneiro's "star witness" in her constructive dismissal claim against the Blues.
Carneiro quit her role at the club in September, six weeks after she and physio Jon Fearn were criticised by manager Jose Mourinho for rushing on to treat Hazard late in August 8's Premier League clash against Swansea.
She has now launched a constructive dismissal claim against the club, and Hazard could be called to confirm at the employment tribunal whether he asked referee Michael Oliver to call for treatment as he lay stricken on the Stamford Bridge pitch, per theĀ Daily Mail's Neil Ashton.

Carneiro was dropped from first-team duties following Mourinho's criticism, when he labelledĀ her and Fearn "impulsive and naive," and she eventually departed the club after her position became untenable.

The Portuguese manager's anger at his medical staff stemmed from Chelsea being left with nine men at the end of a tight game as Hazard had to leave the pitch briefly after being treated and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had already been sent off.
The criticism and demotion at the time seemed unduly harsh as it appeared from television footage that Hazard had asked for treatment, with Oliver then beckoning the Chelsea medical staff onto the pitch.
Per theĀ Independent'sĀ Sam Wallace, Carneiro and Fearn would have been in breach of aĀ General Medical Council principle had they not treated the Belgian star.

With Carneiro unable toĀ reach a financial settlement with the Premier League champions upon her departure from the club, she is now pursuing legal action, with her case set to be heard next year unless the two parties can reach an out-of-court agreement.
Mourinho is also to be the subject of individual legal action from theĀ Gibraltar-born doctor, meaning he will be required toĀ appear at an employment tribunal, per BBC Sport.
AshtonĀ reportedĀ Mourinho "willĀ drop a bombshell" in his defence if and when he is required to appear in court.
Unsurprisingly, nobody at the west London club has commented publicly about the controversy surrounding Carneiro.
