Karlos Williams' Updated Fantasy Outlook After LeSean McCoy's Injury
After sitting out three weeks with a concussion, Buffalo Bills running back Karlos Williams may have ascended to a starting gig after an injury to LeSean McCoy in Sunday's 33-17 win over the Miami Dolphins.
McCoy, 27, left in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury and did not return despite being categorized as questionable by the team. The former All-Pro had 112 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries before exiting, by far his best game in a Bills uniform.
Obviously, a full report on his status will be coming over the next couple of days. If McCoy's out an extended period of time, Williams instantly ascends to the top of all waiver-wire lists. The rookie already made his mark in his return by rushing for 110 yards and two two touchdowns, continuing to look every bit as explosive as he had before the injury. Williams averaged 5.4 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns in his first four games, at times outperforming McCoy.

The Bills looked like a brand-new team Sunday, with the return of Williams, quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wideout Sammy Watkins spurring their offense. They carved the Dolphins up for 266 yards on the ground and look explosive any time Taylor and Williams are on the field together.
If McCoy's out next week, Williams is a must-start in every type of league. He's a dynamic playmaker who has already shown a propensity for big runs and is playing in an offense that would prefer to control the clock. Even if McCoy's injury proves unserious, Williams is worth picking up as a handcuff or even a flex in deeper leagues.
