USMNT Watch: Bobby Wood Records Goal and Assist, Geoff Cameron Returns
Just like it has been for the majority of the last year, the forward position on the United States men's national team roster has been a major talking point.
That trend continued over the last seven days, as a critical decision was made to keep Clint Dempsey off the 23-man roster for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with St. Vincent and Trinidad and Tobago.
Despite the longing for Dempsey to be included, USMNT fans across the globe received a bit of hope on Saturday as one of the five forwards on the current roster shined in his final club game before the November qualifiers.

We'll have news on that and more below in our latest USMNT Watch.
Bobby Wood Stars for Union Berlin
Bobby Wood used his final game with Union Berlin before Friday's World Cup qualifying opener in St. Louis to prove to USMNT boss Jurgen Klinsmann what he is capable of up top.
On Union Berlin's first strike, Wood continued his run in front of goal and tapped in a loose rebound to level the match with Nurnberg at one apiece.

In the buildup to his side's second tally, Wood made a nice run into the middle of the pitch and distributed the ball to Steven Skrzybski.
Wood will be in contention for a starting spot against St. Vincent along with Jozy Altidore, Jordan Morris and Gyasi Zardes. Alan Gordon is the fifth forward on the roster, but he seems like an option off the bench only, especially if the Yanks need to rescue a result in Trinidad and Tobago.
Elsewhere in Germany, Fabian Johnson and Alfredo Morales started on opposite ends of the pitch in Borussia Monchengladbach's 0-0 draw with Ingolstadt. John Brooks went 90 minutes for Hertha Berlin in their 3-1 win on Friday over Hannover.
Geoff Cameron Returns for Stoke City
The second most important bit of news to come from Europe this weekend for the USMNT came from the Britannia Stadium.
Center back Geoff Cameron, who missed his team's last match with an injury, returned as a substitute in the 71st minute of Stoke City's win over Chelsea.

If he recovers fine from his return appearance in the Premier League, Cameron should be one of Klinsmann's first-choice center backs.
DeAndre Yedlin picked up yet another start for Sunderland on Saturday in their 1-0 defeat to Southampton, while Tim Howard made four saves in Everton's 1-1 draw with West Ham United.
Tim Ream, Eric Lichaj and Jonathan Spector all started for their respective sides in the Championship, while Danny Williams made a cameo off the bench for Reading.
Duane Holmes appeared for the first time this season for Huddersfield Town in their 3-0 loss to Leeds United on Saturday. Huddersfield Town is now managed by David Wagner, who earned eight caps for the USMNT in the 1990s. Wagner previously was in charge of Borussia Dortmund II.
Roster for World Cup Qualifiers Released
U.S. Soccer unveiled the full 23-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches on Friday:
The two new faces to the USMNT are Darlington Nagbe and Matt Miazga, both of whom had stellar regular seasons for teams still involved in the Major League Soccer playoffs.
Nagbe should bring a much-needed creative force to the USMNT attack, while Miazga might get a chance to impress in the middle of the back four. Giving both players a shot during the Friday match with St. Vincent would be a good idea.
The only questionable inclusion on the roster is Gordon, who doesn't have much to offer at this stage in his career. But due to the injuries to Aron Johannsson and Rubio Rubin, Klinsmann didn't have many experienced options beyond Gordon to choose from.
News and Notes: Alejandro Bedoya Returns to Training
Alejandro Bedoya is not on the roster for the next two USMNT matches, but he is back in training with Nantes after suffering from an illness for quite some time.
Gedion Zelalem produced a man-of-the-match performance for Rangers in their 4-0 win over Alloa Athletic on Saturday.
Edgar Castillo earned a start in Liga MX, while Joe Corona and Jose Torres came off the bench for their respective sides. William Yarbrough, Miguel Ibarra and Ventura Alvarado did not see the field this weekend.
