Dale Earnhardt Jr Needs To Learn a Lesson From Fellow Drivers
Kyle Busch is hated by many NASCAR fans. His five year old acts after races, cockiness when someone wrecks him and his poor attitude in general have all contributed to why the man from Las Vegas, Nevada gets booed every week.
Well if that's the case, maybe Dale Earnhardt Jr will hear boos next week at Dover.
After an ACCIDENT triggered by Denny Hamlin's tire rub, David Reuttimann's No. 00 Toyota came up the racetrack and made contact with Dale Earnhardt Jr, who was having his best run all season. The contact sent Earnhardt's Chevrolet into a spin and Earnhardt's rear end slammed the outside wall, ending his day and finishing him up in the 35th position.
It was a very dramatic day for Jr Nation and Dale Earnhardt Jr himself. The anger of the man behind the wheel of the 88 car must be mounting. He's had a tough year in the car and being wrecked when having a great run, can't help it. However, his comments after the accident, were uncalled for.
Like he's absolutely perfect, or someone who's had a better year then Reutimann, Dale Jr said "Maybe Reutimann ran out of talent," and "because David Reutimann can't hold a line." Dale. Are you serious?
David Reutimann is talented. Reutimann is 16th in points. Not terrific, but with a team that is much younger then a Hendrick Motorsports or Roush Fenway Racing, 16th is something to be proud of. In this sport, nothing is given to you. Reuitmann's hard work and talent has contributed to the success he's had this season. Reutimann has been nothing but respectful to his fellow companions.
It was bad luck Reutimann slid into Earnhardt. Reutimann saw the smoke from Denny Hamlin's tire rub and thinking it was an accident, checked up, and slid his car up the racetrack. Bad luck at Dale Earnhardt Jr's expense. Yes, but Jr has been on the other side before.
At the Helluva Good Sour Cream Dips at the Glen, Dale Earnhardt Jr's breaks let out. Due to the failure, Reed Sorenson's car was destroyed and ended what could have been a pretty promissing day for the No. 43 car.
The comments from Sorenson never came. MRN radio interviewed him and an angered Sorenson was nothing but respectful. He said they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing about Dale Earnhardt Jr being too hard on his breaks, or Dale Earnhardt Jr ran out of talent.
This season Bobby Labonte was wrecked at Pocono by David Ragan. Bobby took the high road and said that he was sorry for his team and it gets a little racey out there. Again, Labonte could have been a lot harsher with Ragan, who was wrong in the incident. Instead, Labonte took the high road, like many veterans do.
What David Reutimann did was an accident. Nothing else. Kyle Busch has been criticized many times the past three years for similar comments and acts, and rightfully so. Busch is immature. But sword cuts on both ends. No driver is perfect, and Dale Earnhardt Jr, should know that.
