Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend
Top-flight action around the world was brought to a halt by the international break, but there was no shortage of quality goals over the weekend.
Honourable mentions for our latest golazo ranking go to Kenwyne Jones for his powerful strike for Trinidad & Tobago, Gylfi Sigurdsson's impressive run against Latvia, Marko Arnautovic's solo run for Austria, Wesley Sneijder's touch of class for the Dutch and, last but not least, Clinton Morrison's attempts at winding back the years.
Take a look at the goals that did make the ranking and give your thoughts in the comments...
10. Didier Drogba (Montreal Impact) vs. Colorado Rapids
1 of 10Didier Drogba scored his ninth goal in nine MLS appearances on Saturday, bagging the only goal of Montreal's win in Colorado.
In the 15th minute, the Ivorian poked home a powerful free kick to earn his side three points.
9. Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium) vs. Andorra
2 of 10Few players are in form as good as Kevin De Bruyne right now.
The Manchester City midfielder has scored five goals in his last six appearances for club and country (as per Squawka) and helped send Belgium to Euro 2016 on Saturday with his superb free kick during the Red Devils' 4-1 win in Andorra.
De Bruyne bypassed the plastic pitch Andorran with his pinpoint dead ball that crept in at the left post.
8. Hordur Magnusson (Cesena) vs. Cagliari
3 of 10Juventus defender Hordur Magnusson is playing this season on loan at Serie B side Cesena.
On Sunday, the Icelandic star scored the kind of world-class free kick that The Old Lady have been lacking since the departure of Andrea Pirlo.
7. Corentin Tolisso (France U21) vs. Scotland U21
4 of 10France's U21 side took a step toward Euro 2017 qualification with a 2-1 win over Scotland's youngsters on Saturday.
Lyon's precocious midfielder Corentin Tolisso made the difference for Les Bleus with a brilliant strike that saw him outwit four Scottish defenders before slotting home from an impossibly acute angle.
6. Kevin Van Veen (Scunthorpe) vs. Oldham
5 of 10Scunthorpe pulled off a 4-2 win at Oldham on Saturday, thanks in part to a wonder strike from Kevin Van Veen.
Six minutes from time, the Dutch striker picked up the ball in his own half and proceeded to channel his inner Leo Messi by beating several defenders before slotting in a cheeky lobbed finish.
A tip of the hat to 101GG for discovering this one.
5. Jaba Kankava (Georgia) vs. Germany
6 of 10After losing to the Republic of Ireland last week, Germany needed a convincing result against Georgia on Sunday.
Die Mannschaft earned the three points with a 2-1 win, but the visitors made the World Cup holders sweat when Jaba Kankava volleyed in a superb equaliser in the 53rd minute.
4. Erik Sviatchenko (Denmark) vs. France
7 of 10Denmark entertained Euro 2016 hosts France on Sunday night and found themselves 2-0 down with 90 minutes played.
However, the Danes found a late consolation when Erik Sviatchenko struck across goal. A great finish for a defender!
3. Nir Biton (Israel) vs. Cyprus
8 of 10Cyprus are still in with a shot of qualifying for Euro 2016 via the playoffs after their 2-1 win over Israel on Saturday.
The Israelis, however, scored the best goal of the game when Celtic's Nir Biton equalised in the 76th minute with a brilliant long-ranger.
2. Paul Aguilar (Mexico) vs. USA
9 of 10The USA will not be present at the 2017 Confederations Cup after losing a play-off to fierce rivals Mexico in dramatic fashion in California on Saturday evening.
With two minutes left of extra time and the score tied at 2-2, Club America's Paul Aguilar struck a wonderful volley to sink the hosts.
What a way to win a play-off!
1. Mal Benning (Mansfield) vs. Newport
10 of 10Mansfield Town continued their charge toward the top of League Two on Saturday with a 3-0 win over troubled Newport County.
In the 70th minute, 21-year-old midfielder Mal Benning scored an absolute worldie of a volley that will surely take pride of place on his career highlight reel.
