Daily Fantasy College Football Week 6: DraftKings Last-Minute Picks and Advice

Chris RolingOct 10, 2015

It's crunch time for daily fantasy football owners ahead of Week 6.

Owners know all about the big-time names going into the lineup selection process. Baylor quarterback Seth Russell in a shootout? Yes, please. Leonard Fournette against anyone, anytime, anywhere? Of course.

For owners looking to fill out a cash lineup or get better bang for their buck in tournaments, though, it's all about last-minute value picks. With a few hours left before kickoff, here's a look at some of the best values to target.

Quarterback: DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame ($6,200)

DeShone Kizer picks up chunks of yardage through the air and on the ground.

Want to get a bit cheaper at quarterback?

Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer is the guy.

Over the course of his last two games, Kizer has four touchdowns through the air and two on the ground as he continues to emerge as one of the best dual-threat weapons in the country. For those counting, that's 25.48 and 34.84 points.

Now, Kizer gets to lead the Fighting Irish, the favorites, in a game with an over-under of 56.5 against Navy. In their lone test against a passing team this year, the Midshipmen surrendered 325 yards and three scores to East Carolina's Blake Kemp.

Also a threat on the ground, Kizer will have a massive day.

Running Back: Jordan Canzeri, Iowa ($6,200)

Jordan Canzeri continues to prove himself reliable each week.

It's hard to ignore anything about Iowa's Jordan Canzeri, including his price.

Canzeri has scored at least 21.8 points in four of his five games this year. He's carried the ball at least 22 times in three of the five. He's a threat through the air, too, having recorded two games with four or more catches. Oh, and he has eight rushing touchdowns on the year.

In other words, Canzeri is a workhorse for a team favored by 11 points against Illinois, owners of a defense that just gave up 5.5 yards per carry to Nebraska.

With plenty of chances to produce in all facets, Canzeri looks like one of the top value buys of the week.

Running Back: Travis Greene, Bowling Green ($5,600)

Travis Greene's dual-threat ability makes him a great option this week.

Most don't know the name Travis Greene thanks to his big-name quarterback, Matt Johnson.

Talk about an advantage for those seeking a value.

Greene also happens to be a workhorse, except he sits on perhaps the most prolific offense in the nation, one favored by 14 points against Massachusetts with an over-under of 79 (no, they aren't playing basketball this weekend).

Given the game flow, Greene should see plenty of rushing chances on the ground. He's active in the pass-happy attack, too, having caught at least two passes in four of his five outings. Against a struggling Massachusetts defense, he's a must-start option.

Wide Receiver: Tajae Sharpe, UMass ($7,200)

A pristine matchup makes Tajae Sharpe a must-start option.

Tajae Sharpe caught 15 passes last week. What more needs said?

In all seriousness, Sharpe is the No. 1 option on a strong Massachusetts passing attack led by quarterback Blake Frohnapfel (who sits at $7,500 this weekend).

Sharpe's production through four games does the talking quite well:

5 FIU 15159139.9
4 @ND 883016.3
3 TEMP 11156029.6
2 @UC 11138027.8

As mentioned, this is a game flirting with almost 80 total points. The caveat here, though, is the fact Sharpe's team figures to be down by a hefty amount for most of the game.

In simpler terms: Sharpe and Co. will need to take to the air all day long in an effort to keep up with Bowling Green. Remember, it doesn't matter if his team wins, Sharpe just has to have a big day for fantasy owners.

Wide Receiver: Jay Lee, Baylor ($5,900)

Jay Lee isn't the biggest name, but it doesn't matter at this price in the upcoming situation.

Baylor's offense is easy money each week for owners.

Those who want a little more value than spending $7,900 on Corey Coleman, though, need only to look at Jay Lee. He's averaging a cool 21.1 points per game as a quiet beneficiary of the prolific attack.

Granted, this is the most expensive Lee has been all season, but he's still worth it when one looks at those outings of 23.1 points or more in two games. Now, he's suiting up for an encounter with Kansas where Baylor is favored by 45 points and has an over-under of 78.5.

Somebody has to score those points. Lee's sure to get his as Baylor marches toward the numbers dished out by Las Vegas.
