Thursday Recap
There were celebrations on both sides of the border as both Irish teams celebrated historic victories in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Two goals from captain Steven Davis and one from stand-in striker Josh Magennis were enough for Northern Ireland to take a 3-1 win at home against Greece and guarantee qualification for the finals of the tournament.
Former England captain Rio Ferdinand congratulated the Irish on their wonderful achievement:
A late consolation for the Greeks from Christos Aravidis wasn't enough to stop the celebrations, with the defeat leaving the visitors at the bottom of the group.
The Republic of Ireland also earned one of their greatest victories ever as they defeated world champion Germany in Dublin.
The Germans were the aggressors for most of the match, but a goal from substitute Shane Long deep in the second half was enough for a 1-0 win for manager Martin O'Neill's side.
The victory guarantees a play-off berth for the Irish, with automatic qualification still within touching distance.

Portugal cruised through to the finals of Euro 2016, as a Joao Moutinho goal gave Cristiano Ronaldo's team a 1-0 win against Denmark. The Portuguese took the top spot in Group I, with the Danes hoping that Albania do not win their final game in order to hold on to second place.
The Albanians were shocked in their game on Thursday—losing 2-0 at home to lowly Serbia. Injury-time goals from Aleksandar Kolarov and Adem Ljajic stole the points for the Serbs, breaking the hosts' hearts.
Georgia attained a rare win in the day's early match, defeating Gibraltar 4-0. Mate Vatsadze netted twice for his side, with Tornike Okriashvili and Valeri Kazaishvili wrapping up the victory.

Hungary kept their chances alive with a slim 2-1 win against the Faroe Islands in Budapest. Roaldur Jakobsen gave the visitors a shocking early lead, but Daniel Bode came off the bench to score twice and keep Hungary's Group F hopes alive.
They now sit in the third spot, one point behind Romania, who could only draw against Finland at home.
Joel Pohjanpalo's goal midway through the second half appeared to have given Finland the three points, but a stoppage-time effort from Romania's Ovidiu Hoban rescued the match.
It was a fabulous night for Ireland, as both teams proved they have improved greatly during the current campaign. Northern Ireland's progression is astonishing, and their example is a good one for Scotland, who have struggled for decades.
The Republic of Ireland showed heart and courage against a rampant, but misfiring, German team. They now sit just a point behind the leaders and can achieve the unthinkable on the final match day.
