La Liga Table 2015 Week 7: Updated Standings Following Friday's Results
Celta Vigo failed to take the top spot in La Liga on Friday night, playing out a goalless draw against Getafe at the Balaidos.
Despite dominating the attacking action, the Sky Blues were unable to break the deadlock to leapfrog above early league leaders Villarreal, but they moved up to second place, ahead of Barcelona on goal difference.
The point earned also saw Getafe move up the charts, with the club temporarily rising to 11th place before the main action of the weekend kicks off on Saturday.

Friday Recap
In a disappointing affair in La Liga's only game on Friday night, Celta Vigo could not break down the defence of a resilient Getafe side, with the match ending 0-0.
The hosts thought they had taken the lead in the 11th minute as Iago Aspas hit the post from an acute angle. The Spaniard also had an excellent chance only a minute before after a pass from Nolito, but the 28-year-old failed to score with either opportunity.
A well-worked cross by Pablo Sarabia nearly gave Getafe the perfect response, but Alvaro Vazquez's shot went wide of the post.

Nolito looked like the Celts' most likely candidate to score during the first half, missing a couple of good opportunities to break the deadlock. The player then created a strong chance for Gustavo Cabral, but the Argentinian's header was off target.
As the half drew to a close, a bizarre set of events saw Getafe's Santiago Vergini and Celta's Nolito both booked for handballs within a minute—before the referee blew the whistle to end an uneventful half.
The flow of the game continued in the second half, with Celta trying to light up the Balaidos crowd with an opening goal.

Nolito once again created the home team's best opportunities, setting up Cabral and Pablo Hernandez, but Celta were again not good enough to take their chances.
Opta highlighted Nolito's involvement in the match, but were not complimentary about his finishing:
The visitors nearly stunned the hosts just after the hour mark as Angel Lafita's right-footed shot went wide of the goal, but Getafe created little else on the night.
Lafita was then forced from the field of play after suffering an injury in the 76th minute, with the game winding down to an inevitable draw.
Celta came on strong in the final five minutes with a set of corners and set pieces, but Getafe looked secure within their own skin.

However, Hernandez almost stole the points for the Sky Blues in the third minute of added time, but his left-footed blockbuster from outside the box smashed the crossbar.
It was a good performance by Celta, but they didn't have the firepower when Getafe were at their weakest. Nolito again looked a cut above the rest, and it will be difficult for the Celts to keep him if a bigger club become interested in his obvious talents.
However, even without the win, Celta fans will enjoy being above the likes of Barcelona and the Madrid clubs, even if their stay ahead of them is a temporary affair.
