Premier League leaders Manchester United will look to mount further misery upon Arsenal on Sunday when the two come together in an electric encounter between two of England's biggest powers.

Arsene Wenger's men fell to a 3-2 defeat at home to Olympiakos in midweek while Louis van Gaal's United rallied from a goal down to defeat Wolfsburg 2-1 before making their return to domestic action this weekend.

Week 8 of the 2015-16 campaign will also see Liverpool travel to Goodison Park for the first Merseyside derby of the season, where an in-form Toffees team are looking to hold on to their place in the league's upper crust.

Manchester United's Martial Gathering Momentum

Anthony Martial has been a delight to watch after making a budding start to his Manchester United career, but Sunday's trip to the Emirates Stadium could prove to be his most difficult Premier League test to date.

Martial, the man being likened to north London legend Thierry Henry, was once studied as a prospect by Gunners chief Wenger, per ESPN FC's Richard Jolly, but it is the Red Devils who now boast his substantial skill set.

The 19-year-old has scored four goals in his first six games for United and this weekend faces an Arsenal team that, despite sitting fourth in the English top flight, have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five games.

Martial's former Monaco team-mate and captain Jeremy Toulalan isn't surprised by his countryman's ascension, however, per the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba:

"

For Anthony it was difficult to refuse an offer like this and I'm happy for him that he is playing well in Manchester. When you see what he's doing right now, it's infuriating for us but that's good for him. I wish him the best.

It is not a surprise for me because Anthony Martial has a lot of qualities and is a good man who will have a lot of success in Manchester.

"

Van Gaal's burgeoning star is likely to be taking on a weakened Gunners defence, too, after Laurent Koscielny came off against Olympiakos with a hamstring problem, per the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel.

That 3-2 defeat was pinned by many on a horror mistake from reserve goalkeeper David Ospina, including BT Sport pundit Ian Wright, but Petr Cech will make his return to the top spot in Week 8:

The Red Devils showed gaps of their own against the Wolves, but Van Gaal's leaders will be confident of claiming what would be their second successive Premier League victory at the Emirates.

Stones and Sturridge to Contest Fiery Affair

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - JANUARY 28: Daniel Sturridge of Liverpool attempts to control the ball under pressure from John Stones of Everton during the Barclays Premier League match between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield on January 28, 2014 in Liverpool, Eng

Neutrals will be pleased to see Everton's John Stones and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge both fit and ready to take part in Sunday's Merseyside derby, with both players in hot form of late.

The Reds are particularly buoyed by the return of Sturridge, who was left out of England's squad for the upcoming international break as manager Roy Hodgson looks to give the forward a chance at regaining his fitness:

The Three Lions team-mates make for a feisty head-to-head, especially after seeing Sturridge bag a brace in last Saturday's 3-2 win over Aston Villa, the first time this Premier League term Liverpool have scored more than once in a game.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez will be leaning heavily on Stones to improve an Everton defence that conceded twice to West Bromwich Albion on Monday. KICCA's Ian Stafford has high praise for the centre-back this season:

Only Phil Jagielka (3) is averaging more interceptions per game than Stones (2.3) this season, according to WhoScored.com, while the latter has also made an average of 2.2 tackles per game thus far.

The Three Lions' next generation is on a collision course in what's shaping up to be an explosive derby showdown, with each of the last three meetings at Goodison Park having ended in draws.
