Manchester United and City to Play Capital One Cup Home Matches on Same Night
Manchester United and Manchester City will both stage home matches in the Capital One Cup fourth round on the evening of October 28.
Per Mark Ogden in the Telegraph, Greater Manchester Police have cleared both clubs to host their League Cup ties in the north-west city just three days after the pair meet for the first Manchester derby of the 2015-16 Premier League season.
The Sky Blues will kick off their match with Crystal Palace at 7:45 p.m. GMT and United will start their clash against Middlesbrough 15 minutes later.

With Old Trafford able to hold 75,000 spectators and the Etihad Stadium 55,000, as many as 130,000 fans could converge on Manchester for the evening.
Neither side were prepared to host their match on the Tuesday—just two days on from October 25's derby at Old Trafford—but Chief Inspector Dean Howard of GMP is confident there will be limited disruptions, per Ogden:
"Due to the football fixture schedule, both Manchester United and Manchester City are scheduled to play their League Cup ties at their home grounds on Wednesday 28 October. This is an unusual situation, although it is not the first time we have had this happen, both teams played at home against different opposition on the same night in 2009, in the same competition. GMP are working with both clubs, and other partners, in an effort to minimise any disruption to local communities and reduce the risk of any disorder taking place.
"
With the two stadiums standing just under five miles apart from each other it will take a huge effort from the authorities to avoid disruption or any clash between the multiple sets of fans.
However, it is not a unique event, as the two Manchester clubs have played at home on the same day before.
Most recently, in September 2009, City hosted Fulham while United played Wolverhampton Wanderers, again in the League Cup.
Both United and City entered this year's Capital One Cup at the third-round stage and advanced by beating Ipswich Town and Sunderland, respectively.
Manuel Pellegrini's side undoubtedly have the tougher task in the fourth round up against the Premier League's high-flying Eagles.
However, Boro will be no pushovers for the Red Devils as they are currently second in the Championship.
