Arsenal Transfer News: Ezequiel Lavezzi, Alexandre Lacazette, Latest Rumours
Arsenal have been boosted in their reported pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi after it emerged that he could move away from the Parc des Princes in January.
Per Izzy Horsefield of the Daily Express, Lavezzi has become unneeded at PSG after the summer arrival of Angel Di Maria and will move in the new year if he receives a "big offer" from a European club.
The Argentinian has less than a year to run on his contract with the French champions, and PSG will likely want to receive some kind of transfer fee for him rather than let him leave for free next summer.

Lavezzi recently told French outlet Telefoot (via James Cambridge of the Daily Express) that he thinks this is his "last year" in Paris.
The 30-year-old has started only two league games so far this season, making five appearances from the bench and scoring one goal, per WhoScored.com.
He would surely be attracted by a potential move to Arsenal as they are a Champions League club and have designs on competing for the Premier League title.
It is unclear, though, whether Arsenal would want to bring Lavezzi in, with manager Arsene Wenger having eschewed the possibility in the past, per Horsefield. They are short on strikers at the moment but well stocked with attacking midfielders.

Lavezzi plays a similar role to Alexis Sanchez, and the Chilean is undoubtedly Arsenal's best player and an undisputed starter when fit.
The former Napoli man could perhaps be attractive to Arsenal then as a back-up, but he would not demand a regular starting spot were he to move to the Emirates.
On the other hand, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette likely would compete for a starting role at Arsenal, and the Frenchman's recent outburst against club President Jean Michel Aulas suggests he may not be completely happy at the Stade des Lumieres.

Per French newspaper L'Equipe (h/t Get French Football News), Lacazette slammed Aulas publicly announcing the details of his contract offer in June and said he was "hurt and disappointed" with how he was treated.
The 24-year-old did eventually sign a contract extension until 2019, but it certainly seems he might be unsettled at Lyon.
Arsenal were heavily linked with him in the summer following a breakthrough Ligue 1 season in which he netted 27 goals, per the Independent's Jack de Menezes.
A finisher of his ability would be a huge bonus at Arsenal, where genuine strikers are in short supply. The inconsistent Olivier Giroud is the only natural frontman available to Wenger.
