Stork Out for 8 Weeks, Can't Practice for 6 Weeks
Wednesday, Sept. 9
Volin passed along Stork's return timeline after the Patriots moved the center to injured reserve with a designation to return.
Howe reported on Sept. 8 that Stork had missed his third straight practice and only practiced once since suffering the injury.
According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, in order to eventually return to the Patriots, Stork must receive two different levels of medical clearance from an independent neurologist—the first would allow him to practice and the second would allow him to play in a game.
Prior to Stork's placement on injured reserve, ESPN's Mike Reiss reported on Sept. 8 that the Patriots were working on a contingency plan to replace Stork. David Andrews and Ryan Wendell have taken practice reps at center, while Josh Kline could be another alternative.
