Mayweather vs. Berto: Highlights, Reaction for Showtime 'All-Access' Episode 2

Joe PantornoSep 4, 2015

Friday night's episode of All Access continued to build up the hype for Andre Berto and Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s Sept. 12 bout while offering a look at their values outside the ring.

The second episode was highlighted by a special sparring session, offering the media an in-depth look at some of Mayweather's ways in the gym.

He rolled in style, as shown by Showtime Sports:

But that's not what the episode led with.

The show opened with Mayweather showing off some of his unfathomable wealth, rolling out of his garage in a Koenigsegg—a car of which only two models exist. Boxing fans then got a fancy look at Mayweather's day.

The Sports Junky caught a look at Mayweather's ride:

He cruised to training, showing off his wealth and conditioning to those on hand at his gym. All the while, Mayweather remained his own biggest fan while taking as many jabs at Berto as possible.

It was off to the club next, as Mayweather watched recording artist The Weekend perform while he was flanked by security, his posse and adoring fans. Mayweather, who doesn't seem to believe in curfews despite his training, was out until the wee hours of the morning.

While sitting in a hot tub at around 5:30 a.m., he never forgot to take a shot at Berto. "My opponent better be at home resting," he said, smiling at the camera.

Days later, Mayweather showed a soft side, entertaining local children at his gym and handing out food and backpacks as they prepared for the upcoming school year.

After the kids left, like he does every day, Mayweather watched aspiring boxers hash it out in the ring, often giving advice and support.

From fancy digs in Vegas, Berto, on the other hand, was hard at work in more humble settings, creating a new rallying cry for this upcoming match: "48-1," which would be Mayweather's record if he loses.

While both boxers' main focus is on fighting, the episode shifted to family and each man's devotion to loved ones and home.

For Mayweather, he remains close with his father, who helps him train and pushes him to his limits in and out of the ring.

On Berto's side, there was little flash or trash-talking. Instead, he delved into devotions and pride in his home country of Haiti. Back in 2010, when the country was devastated by an earthquake, he canceled a fight to go help the relief efforts.

His home and family were needed back in 2013, as All Access relived his brutal fight against Jesus Soto Karass. Berto tore a tendon in his right shoulder during the fight, which he lost in 12 rounds.

Hopefully without an injury, Berto will have to find that kind of toughness in order to pull off one of the biggest upsets in recent boxing memory.

But All Access has given the sporting world a look at how much both of these fighters want this win, though they might want it for varying reasons. This is Mayweather's swan song, his final bout before he rides off into the sunset with an undefeated record and a whole lot of money.

For Berto, it is about pride and resparking a career that was derailed by a trio of losses. No matter the mindset, All Access is going to show boxing fans the final stages of preparation for a momentous match.
