EZ Nwachukwu Released by Texans: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
Uzoma "EZ" Nwachukwu, who has become a fan favorite due to his antics on HBO's Hard Knocks, was released by the Houston Texans on Friday ahead of Saturday's 53-man roster deadline.
Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston was among the first to report that the Texans cut ties with the 24-year-old wideout.
Houston signed Nwachukwu as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in 2013. While he has never made the team's active roster, he spent both the 2013 and 2014 campaigns on the practice squad.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The native Texan registered 152 catches for 2,239 yards and 19 touchdowns with the Aggies, but he has been unable to get himself off the bubble at the NFL level.
That is despite the fact that the speedy pass-catcher felt as though he had become a more well-rounded and intelligent player, according to ESPN.com's Tania Ganguli.
"I think my study habits have improved," Nwachukwu said. "Just looking at little details of routes. Not just what's drawn on paper, but actually how to beat man coverage, zone coverage. Looking at the safeties, looking at the different coverages. Not just what's drawn on paper but the actual game."
Nwachukwu was locked in an extremely tough battle due to the Texans' depth at wide receiver. With DeAndre Hopkins, Cecil Shorts, Nate Washington and Jaelen Strong already locked in, and the likes of Keith Mumphery, Damaris Johnson and Keshawn Martin in the mix as well, Nwachukwu was the victim of a numbers game.
Many roster moves will be made across the league in the coming days, which means spots could open up for Nwachukwu.
His hopes of catching on with the Texans may have been dashed once again, but Nwachukwu did enough in training camp and the preseason to at least warrant some consideration from other organizations in need of wide receiver help.
