Seth Rollins Should Win Both Title Matches at WWE Night of Champions 2015
WWE Night of Champions 2015 needs to become the "Night of Seth Rollins."
With two championship matches against two top-tier talents lined up for him at the upcoming pay-per-view, there's a chance to make the event a historic one for Rollins. Defeating both John Cena and Sting would be an emphatic statement about where the champion stands, an announcement that he is elite, not a man who has lucked into his current spot.
Last week, Sting popped out from behind a curtain to ambush Rollins. That led to Triple H announcing that The Vigilante would get his shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship come Sept. 20.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
On Monday's Raw, Rollins found out he will be pulling double duty at the event. Cena demanded a rematch for the United States Championship, which Stephanie McMahon granted.
And with that, WWE has set itself up to create a career-defining moment for Rollins.
Years after Chris Jericho defeated The Rock and Steve Austin in the same night to become WWE's undisputed champion, Y2J bragged about the feat. It became the top item on his resume, the crowning achievement in what is sure to be a Hall of Fame career.
Defeating Cena and Sting isn't the exact equivalent, but it would be a similarly memorable accomplishment.
It would be a first in Night of Champions history. And the "guys who beat both Cena and Sting in their entire careers" is an exclusive club as is. Rollins would be pulling that off in the span of a few hours.
Rollins has but a few decisive wins to boast about during his title reign. Kane helped him defeat Randy Orton. Undertaker saved him at Battleground. Jon Stewart's interference assured that he would remain champ at SummerSlam.
Rollins now needs some victories that he achieves by his lonesome.
Knocking off Cena without assistance, which WWE wrestlers so rarely do, would be a great first step. Bill Neville, who produces the New Age Insiders podcast, is among those hungry to see Rollins just beat Cena with no asterisks for once:
"Rollins. Needs. To. Beat. Cena. Clean. End. Of. Story. No. Exceptions. #WWENOC
— BillNevilleNAI (@BillNevilleNAI) September 1, 2015"
To follow up a win over Cena with a loss to an aging Sting later in the night, though, would hurt the momentum that first victory created.
Sting is a welcome special attraction, but he shouldn't be the world titleholder. He's just 0-1 in WWE matches. Rollins, meanwhile, is supposed to be the warrior on top of the WWE mountain. He should be presented as the man who outsmarted Brock Lesnar, outlasted Dean Ambrose and then, as he threatened on the last SmackDown of August, crushes Sting's "old bones to dust."
The Icon's age would hurt his credibility as the top champ. Bleacher Report's Dan Pecoraro can't be the only one who has said, "I don't want a 56-year-old as my WWE world heavyweight champion."
The simple solution then is to have Rollins do what Jericho did back in 2001 and what Daniel Bryan did at WrestleMania 30—score two major wins in the same night.
And it's clear from recent storyline developments that WWE is making the slow push toward Rollins vs. Triple H at some point. There has always been tension between the two, but now The Game finds himself a prominent part of this narrative even when he's not in the arena.
On Monday's Raw, much of the talk from both Sting and Rollins revolved around Triple H and whether the current champion is on his level. Sting, for one, claimed that Rollins was not half the man Triple H is.
So there is clearly still an element of Rollins having to prove himself in this story.
He has long been out to show fans that he is the future of the company. He is now looking to prove that he is on the same tier as his mentor. And Night of Champions offers an ideal place to accomplish all of that.
As folks at The Fan's Podcast said, it will be fun to see him attempt to do so:
A pair of PPV wins for Rollins will catapult him forward. It will have Night of Champions leave a lasting image of the cunning heel champ taking down two legends in one night. That's the smart way to book the PPV and to make the most of Rollins' busy night.
