Sevilla vs. Atletico Madrid, La Liga: Team News, Lineups, Live Stream, TV Info
The first meeting of two of Spain’s five Champions League competitors this season comes on Sunday night at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, where Sevilla and Atletico Madrid will each compete to show just why they are among the European elite these days.

Sevilla—who drew Juventus, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach on Thursday—will be hoping to improve on last weekend’s goalless stalemate at Malaga, in which summer signing Steven N’Zonzi was sent off on his debut.

The former Stoke City midfielder will be suspended for the visit of Atletico, then, with Diego Simeone’s side coming into the match having been drawn against Benfica, Galatasaray and Kazakhstan’s Astana in a friendly-looking Champions League group.
Atletico will also be in good spirits after Antoine Griezmann’s first-half strike secured the three points in their season-opener at home to newly-promoted Las Palmas last Saturday, when Simeone gave a La Liga debut to summer signing Jackson Martinez.

Sevilla
The hosts’ big problem comes with the suspension of N’Zonzi, with the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City midfielder missing out on a home debut after picking up two yellow cards at Malaga.
Yevhen Konoplyanka and Ciro Immobile both made their La Liga debuts from the bench in that match, but it could be that Unai Emery turns to the experience of another summer signing, the Dane Michael Krohn-Dehli, in a match where getting hold of midfield is going to be crucial.
Emery will be under pressure to start Konoplyanka for the first time in front of his new home fans, but he might well resist that temptation and stick with the more experienced Jose Antonio Reyes, the skipper and former Atletico player.
Both Daniel Carrico and Nicolas Pareja are still out injured.

Atletico Madrid
For Diego Simeone, it might just be a case of “same again.”
The Argentinean boss replaced Jackson Martinez with Fernando Torres before the hour mark in the win over Las Palmas, but there is no indication that the club legend will come in from the start for the Colombian here, while Luciano Vietto waits for his debut on the bench.
In defence there is a similar situation for the newly signed Stefan Savic, who will have to remain patient as Simeone’s first-choice back four of Juanfran, Jose Gimenez, Diego Godin and the returning Filipe Luis bid for a second successive clean sheet.

Key Players
Sevilla: Ever Banega

In N’Zonzi’s absence Sevilla are going to need someone else to step into his shoes and get physical in midfield, and in the Argentina international Ever Banega they’ve got a player who’ll be doing just that.
Banega spent a season on loan at Atletico from Valencia in the 2008/09 campaign, but they’ll be no love lost here as he seeks to dominate a midfield area that is going to be crammed with impressive performers.
Atletico Madrid: Antoine Griezmann

The winner on the opening weekend of the season is another indicator that things are going to go swimmingly for Antoine Griezmann in his second season at Atletico Madrid following last summer’s move from Real Sociedad.
The French international has a new strike partner in Martinez, and the pair will need to be mobile here up against a Sevilla defence that, while generally solid, did show alarming signs of sloppiness in pre-season.
