Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on John Stones and Alexandre Pato Rumours
Contrary to reports that Everton defender John Stones would force a move to Chelsea, it now appears the Englishman will remain at Goodison Park.
That's according to Steve Millar of the Daily Star, who reports in an exclusive that: "John Stones will not hand in a transfer request as Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho gets ready to push Everton to the limit with a £40 million fourth bid."
The Toffees, who are desperate to keep hold of their young star, have rejected three bids from Chelsea for the centre-back.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has maintained throughout the summer that Stones is not for sale.
According to the Liverpool Echo's Phil Kirkbride, following Everton's defeat to Manchester City on Sunday he reiterated his hope Stones will stay:
"Of course. That’s the plan.
We have enjoyed his development, and we have seen him grow so much in the last two seasons.
What we want to do is be as strong as we can when the window closes. We have our own aims, our own objectives. We want to become a winning team and that [Stones] is part of our future.
"
The 21-year-old has already shown some impressive form this season, with the Telegraph's Henry Winter and BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey noting the effect it could have on his price following his laudable display in the 3-0 win over Southampton:
Despite losing to City on Sunday, the Englishman was the highlight for the Toffees, per Squawka Football:
Nevertheless, sports journalist Jonas Giaever remains unconvinced the youngster is worth so much:
Everton appear genuinely adamant in their stance, though, so unless Stones is eager to move, the transfer is unlikely to go through.
Alexandre Pato "Offered to Chelsea"
According to Jason Burt of the Telegraph, "Manchester United and Chelsea have both been offered the chance to sign the Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato, who is available for around £11 million."
The striker has scored 13 goals in all competitions on loan at Sao Paolo this season, adding four assists.

Pato caught the eye during his prolific spell at AC Milan as a precocious youngster, where he scored 63 goals in 150 games, but injuries and a drop in form saw Pato return to Brazil.
Still only 25, the Brazilian has plenty of time to kick-start his career back in Europe.
However, the striker won't be doing so at Chelsea.
With the recruitment of Pedro, Chelsea are highly unlikely to recruit any more attacking players this summer.
Further, Mourinho has already taken a risk on Radamel Falcao, whose career has taken a similar downturn due to injury in recent seasons.
If the Blues were to dip back into the market for another attacker, it would be for someone who would represent a reliable option.
Pato could well return to the top level if he can shake off the injury problems that have plagued him, but a lower-calibre European team than Chelsea is the likely destination.
