WWE SummerSlam 2015: Biggest Unanswered Questions Going into Event
With only hours until WWE presents its four-hour SummerSlam spectacular live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, there are still questions that remain unanswered heading into the show.
The Undertaker battles Brock Lesnar in the main event, a grudge match over a year in the making. Lesnar has dominated competition over the last year while Undertaker has remained in the shadows, watching from a distance, no longer the worker he once was.
Fans have witnessed the Beast Incarnate deliver Match of the Year candidates against the likes of Roman Reigns, John Cena and Seth Rollins here in 2015, but The Deadman has not impressed since his WrestleMania 29 war with CM Punk in 2013.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Speaking of impressing, the aforementioned Cena has done a lot of that this year, delivering his finest in-ring performances some 10 years after his initial rise to the top of the industry. Sunday night, he defends his United States Championship against Seth Rollins' WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a rare title-for-title match.
Rollins has been the heel that the entire company is built around for the last year while Cena is just now returning to the main event scene after months spent in the midcard.
Both of those main events are shrouded in mystery, questions abounding about the potential outcomes and the status of the stars involved.
But those are not the only matches that have fans asking questions.

Can Undertaker Deliver One More Great Match?
The words "underwhelming" and "disappointing" are not typically associated with The Undertaker, especially at WrestleMania. The last two times The Phenom has competed, though, those are the two adjectives to best describe his performances.
Of course, he suffered a severe concussion in one of those matches and was working with a performer suffering from an ankle injury in the other, but that does not completely erase the images of the grizzled veteran moving slower than he had before.
At this point, he looks his age, and that is not a good thing, especially when WWE Creative is asking us to believe in him as a legitimate threat to Brock Lesnar.
Appearance aside, the one question that hangs over Sunday's broadcast like a dark cloud is whether Undertaker can dig deep down within himself and deliver the type of performance against the Beast Incarnate that will silence his doubters.
If so, fans could witness something truly special in SummerSlam's marquee bout.

Will Seth Rollins Finally Be Treated Like A Legitimate Champion?
The harshest criticisms of Seth Rollins' reign as WWE World Heavyweight champion have centered around his booking. To this point, he has not successfully retained his title without the assistance of The Authority or some screwy finish designed to protect his opponent as much as himself.
Sunday night, he will enter Barclays Center for a title-for-title match against WWE's franchise star, John Cena, and all eyes will be on The Architect and how the company portrays him.
Will he finally pick up a victory that legitimizes his reign as champion or will he drop the title to Cena, leaving some to compare his run with the title to that of another, similarly booked titleholder, The Miz?
There is no doubting Rollins' performances between bells. When he is on, there are few workers that can match him. He is a fantastic wrestler who has proved himself in matches against opponents of all shapes and styles.
But he needs the support of WWE Creative to really be taken seriously by fans as a credible champion.
Whether he gets it remains the most pressing question.

How Serious Is WWE About the Divas Revolution?
With 10 matches on Sunday's stacked card, it is increasingly likely that one or two bouts will be robbed of time. Typically, the Divas bout would be the first management looked at to shorten. They find themselves painted into a corner now, though, because the company has promoted a Divas Revolution designed to change fan perception of women's wrestling.
Shortchanging the women would be extremely hypocritical, not to mention stupid following the tremendous response given to Bayley and Sasha Banks just 24 hours earlier at the NXT TakeOver special.
The booking of the match will also determine just how seriously the company is about pushing its female stars. If the contest serves as nothing more than an excuse to push The Bella Twins in time for the filming of the current Total Divas season, the company will fail miserably in its attempt to bring legitimacy to the division.

Can SummerSlam Eclipse TakeOver: Brooklyn?
The young stars of NXT delivered one of the best wrestling shows of the year Saturday night with TakeOver: Brooklyn. Bayley and Sasha Banks delivered a legitimate Match of the Year candidate, and Finn Balor and Kevin Owens tore the house down with a phenomenal ladder match for the NXT Championship.
The hard work and determination of all involved set the bar incredibly high for not only the WWE Superstars and Divas to try to surpass, but the company's creative team as well.
With a stacked card of intriguing matches, the company has done its part to present a show worth getting excited for. But will it deliver when it is time to hit the WWE Network airwaves?
It will have to, or the unfavorable comparisons to the developmental brand, run according to Triple H's vision, will continue.
