Senquez Golson Injury: Updates on Steelers CB's Recovery from Shoulder Surgery
Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson has been placed on injured reserve after undergoing shoulder surgery on Aug. 21.
The rookie was already on the PUP list prior to the surgery, and the decision to end Golson's season before it started shouldn't come as a surprise. On Aug. 21, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com noted Golson "could be out for the season after undergoing shoulder surgery," though Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin "wanted to discuss the situation with doctors before forecasting missed time."
Golson, 22, was the team's second-round pick out of Ole Miss at this year's NFL draft. He finished his senior season with 43 tackles and 10 interceptions, showing an excellent nose for the football.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Steelers do have fairly solid depth at corner, with Cortez Allen, William Gay and Brandon Boykin, so the loss of Golson shouldn't be too devastating. Still, Golson will be losing valuable playing time to gain experience, which is a massive roadblock to his development as a future starting corner.
