Spieth didn't appear to be a major contender to win The Open Championship after he shot a 73 in the first round before eventually taking another step back on Friday.
He started off strong with two birdies across the first five holes, but ended the day with two bogeys and three double bogeys. This included a three-putt double bogey on hole No. 17.
Spieth ultimately carded a 10-over 77 in the second round.
Meanwhile, Lucas Herbert holds the top spot on leaderboard heading into Saturday's action.
