Mayweather vs. Berto Predictions for Scorecard, Winner and Latest Odds
It does not hold the same star power and headline-snatching ability as a Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao draw, but Mayweather will attempt to retain his world welterweight title on September 12 against Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This also does not seem like a fair fight as OddShark.com released its latest odds:
| Odds to Win | Mayweather 1/30 | Berto 11/1 |
| Will Fight Go the Distance? | Yes 5/12 | No 33/20 |
It does not seem that Mayweather will have much of a challenge in the final fight of his undefeated career, and it is doubtful that he will see that record gain a blemish on its last night.
After starting his career 27-0, Berto is just 3-3 in his last six matches and is ranked 21st in the world, according to BoxRec.com.
Here's a look at some of Mayweather and Berto's stats:
| Record | 30-3 (23 KOs) | 48-0 (26 KOs) |
| Age | 32 | 38 |
| Height | 5'6 1/2" | 5'8" |
| Reach | 68 1/2" | 72" |
| Stance | Orthodox | Orthodox |
Berto is seven years younger than Mayweather, and he will have to take full advantage of that aspect.
If Berto stands any chance of giving Mayweather a run for his money, he needs to be darting around the ring, attempting to tire his opponent while diving in with quick jabs.
ESPN.com's Dan Rafael delves into Berto even further, and it doesn't look good for him:
"Berto has done absolutely nothing to earn the fight. Well, that is unless going 3-3 in his last six fights, including getting knocked out by journeyman Jesus Soto Karass, losing decisions to two guys, Robert Guerrero and Victor Ortiz, that Mayweather beat easily in recent years and getting suspended for testing positive for steroids, warrants a fight with the best in the business.
"
Mayweather has shown that he can handle some of the best fighters in the world, and should have a plan to neutralize any advantage Berto might find.
Nothing shows that this fight is going to be close, and don't expect Mayweather to take too many chances in order to end his career with a stunning finish. Berto does not hold the same kind of ability that Pacquiao possesses, so there should not be as much holding and dancing around the ring as Mayweather showed back in May.
This should be an easy night for Mayweather, who will end his career with a perfect 49-0 record.
Scorecard predictions: Mayweather wins by unanimous decision, 118-110, 119-109, 118-109
