Deion Sanders Explains Not Being in EA Sports' College Football 27 Video Game
One of the most notable head coaches in the NCAA is absent from EA Sports' College Football 27 video game.
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders explained that his decision not to be included in the game was financial.
"If I'm not in the game, they're probably not paying enough," Sanders said, per On3's Brett McMurphy.
Top coaches such as Georgia's Kirby Smart, Indiana's Curt Cignetti, Oregon's Dan Lanning, and others are featured in this year's game. Some of the notable absentees include Miami's Mario Cristobal, North Carolina's Bill Belichick and Iowa's Kirk Ferentz.
Whether those coaches opted out because of money is unclear, but Sanders clearly wanted a bigger paycheck for EA Sports to use his name and likeness.
Sanders would seemingly command a high price point given he's one of the biggest names in sports, even if Colorado isn't exactly a national contender. The Buffaloes are coming off a rough 3-9 campaign, failing to build off the momentum of the 2024 season.
Colorado doesn't exactly have the best recruiting class coming in, so the Buffs might be in for another rebuilding year.
