🚨 MLB Names All-Star Starters
Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. announced he will not be participating in this year's event, which means Athletics star Nick Kurtz will start at first base.
While each All-Star that was selected is in the midst of a strong 2026 campaign, there were also some players that were surprisingly left off the star-studded teams for their respective leagues.
Among AL squads, Boston Red Sox starter Sonny Gray was among the notable options excluded from the roster.
Gray has put together an impressive year despite Boston's 38-48 record, owning a 9-1 mark in 15 starts to go along with a 2.69 ERA.
He's been particularly sharp on the mound as of late, posting a 1.65 ERA over his past four starts. Gray has also amassed 31 strikeouts compared to five walks across that span.
For the NL side, Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Brandon Lowe wasn't able to earn a second consecutive All-Star nod despite his strong individual year.
Lowe has racked up 20 home runs and 58 RBI in 2026, with both marks ranking No. 5 among all NL players. He's also tallied 20 doubles and 37 walks to go along with an OPS of .818 this season.
The 2026 MLB All-Star Game will take place on July 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
