Kade Anderson's Final Box-Score Stats & Highlights From MLB Debut for Mariners vs. Cubs
Kade Anderson showed flashes of why he is MLB's top pitching prospect in his Saturday night debut for the Seattle Mariners.
Anderson, the third pick of the 2025 draft, threw 53 strikes on 81 pitches on his way to striking out five batters before he was pulled from his sixth inning against the Chicago Cubs.
Here's a look at how the 22-year-old left-hander performed while helping the Mariners to a 5-4 win against the visiting Cubs.
| IP | H | ER | BB | K | |
| Kade Anderson | 5.2 | 5 | 3 | 2 | 5 |
Anderson started out his MLB debut with a 1-2-3 first inning highlighted by forcing Cubs star Alex Bregman into a swinging strikeout.
Thanks to five strikeouts and strong defense from Randy Arozarena in the third frame, Anderson made it through four scoreless innings as the Mariners climbed out to a 1-0 lead.
Anderson gave up his first run of the night after walking leadoff batter Tyrone Taylor, who scored later in the frame on a sacrifice fly from Kevin Alcรกntara.
He ran into trouble after allowing back-to-back home runs from Bregman and Michael Busch in the top of the sixth, at which point he was pulled for Carlos Vargas.
Anderson has spent this season pitching for Double-A Arkansas, where he has averaged under 5.2 innings per game in 18 appearances while marking a 1.06 ERA.
The Mariners will need to decide whether to take out Anderson earlier from his next MLB appearance, which could potentially take place as soon as next weekend against the Toronto Blue Jays.
