The regular-season record for the longest NFL field goal was set last season at 68 yards.
That standard was set last November by the Jacksonville Jaguars' Cam Little, who made a 68-yard kick in a Nov. 2 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Little also holds the record for the longest goal kicked in the NFL preseason after hitting a 70-yarder last August against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Butker recorded the longest field goal of his regular-season career in October 2022, when he set a Chiefs franchise record by making a 62-yard kick as time expired in the first half of a matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Butker, who is heading into his 10th season with the Chiefs, went 5-for-8 on field goal attempts from at least 50 yards out last season. He is 35-for-53 from beyond 50 yards in his regular-season career.
