WWE SummerSlam 2015: Stars Who Have Built Most Momentum on Road to Event
Fresh off a glut of pay-per-view shows in recent months, there has been a decent break between Battleground and SummerSlam, which gives plenty of stars the opportunity to piece some real momentum together.
With SummerSlam's status as perhaps the second-biggest show on the entire calendar behind WrestleMania, it’s vital that some of the biggest stars in WWE get some momentum behind them for their respective matches.
Thankfully, there is a hope that the positive momentum gained recently will make for a compelling show at SummerSlam.

From the top of the card to the bottom, here are the stars who appear to have put the strongest run of momentum together.
Sasha Banks
The new and exciting storyline with a number of NXT Divas making the step up to the main roster has meant there has been plenty of TV time and opportunities for the women's division recently.
Whilst Charlotte and Becky Lynch have definitely caught the eye, the one who has really stood out has been Sasha Banks. Why? Well, her performances inside the ring have been extremely notable for one, and she seems to have real flair—excuse the pun—that makes her stand out when all the action is going on.
Her look and personality seem to fit what WWE likes for a top Diva, with Banks not only possessing an edge inside the ring but out of it too.
The team she’s been thrust into alongside Naomi and Tamina Snuka is not the strongest compared to the other two Diva stables, and Banks is quickly becoming the dominating figure in Team B.A.D. When you consider she’s teaming with two women who have been on the main roster for some time, that’s a great effort.
It seems inevitable that she'll become Divas champion sooner rather than later, and yet again Banks stood tall at the end of Raw this past week.
The revolution in Divas wrestling is fast taking shape, and Banks is at the forefront of it heading toward SummerSlam.
The New Day
When you think back to the debut of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E as The New Day all those months ago as a babyface stable, it’s incredible to think of how far they’ve come.
The tag division was in desperate need of a top heel group to take the division by storm, and the decision made by WWE to turn The New Day heel has to rank as one of its better decisions in recent months.
It's instantly stood out alongside The Prime Time Players as the best two teams in the division, and it looks set for another thrilling collision at SummerSlam. This time, though, it should really be Kingston, Woods and Big E who emerge triumphant.
After another win on Raw that once again caught the eye, it's hard to be not be impressed by The New Day. It has the mix of brawn, creativity and brutality which is sure to make the team a hit, and Woods' road to redemption is particularly noteworthy.
He doesn't wrestle anywhere near as much as the other two, but that's OK.
Woods is excellent with a microphone in hand—arguably one of WWE's best—and as he rightly noted on Raw, the team's wins and performances are rightly singling it out as the only real contender for The Prime Time Players at the moment.
Cesaro
Finally, it seems like WWE is listening to its fans and investing some faith in Cesaro's ability.
The unfortunate injury to Tyson Kidd could have seriously derailed Cesaro's momentum a few months ago, but that has been turned into a positive by WWE and allowed The Swiss Superman to get his singles career back on track.
You only have to look at his matches against the likes of John Cena last year to understand why WWE fans have such a positive connection with him, and all that momentum he gained heading toward WrestleMania last year has stayed intact.
He's on such a roll at the moment, and WWE is cleverly opening him up to more and more work on the microphone, which is making him more of a well-rounded package.
Take his in-depth interview with Michael Cole during which Vince McMahon's infamous brass rings comments were discussed, as well as him being given the freedom to get involved with the opening segment of Raw this past week.
But as we all know, it's not the mic work which makes Cesaro so over—it's his work in the ring. Yet again this past week, Cesaro caught the eye with some incredible moves.
As the commentary suggested, he throws himself around like a cruiserweight.
After the events on Raw, there's no doubt that he's heading toward a match with Kevin Owens at SummerSlam. If they both aren't careful, it will end up stealing the show.
