WWE SummerSlam 2015: Breaking Down Potential of Matches Added to PPV
WWE SummerSlam 2015 has become a celebration of the tag team.
The pay-per-view's lineup had expanded by three by the end of Monday's Raw. Each of the new additions is a tag bout; each one promises to be at least a bit of solid fun.
Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker is going to get the majority of the hype and attention, but the event's midcard offerings each have the potential to help make SummerSlam a success.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
A celebrity who looks surprisingly comfortable in the squared circle will provide some key highlights. The bulk of the tag team division will be crammed into a single match. And the "Divas Revolution" storyline gets its biggest collision to date.
Considering the talent involved, the current storyline and the match format of each of these contests, the following is a look at how good each of SummerSlam's new matches will be.
Fatal 4-Way for Tag Team Championship
The Lucha Dragons, Los Matadores and The New Day are all set to challenge The Prime Time Players for the tag titles. WWE had been teasing a rematch with The New Day and The Prime Time Players but instead chose to just make this a big, chaotic clash.
This is SummerSlam's least attractive match so far.
The women's match will feature a lot of moving parts as well, but at least there is a surging story to work with. That's not the case with Titus O'Neil and Darren Young and their foes. There is no real animosity between most of these teams.
Even the champs and The New Day haven't built up much of a rivalry despite their many battles.
There was a story developing of The New Day earning their spot by beating these teams. That's clearly been abandoned, though. And how do the bullfighters deserve this chance?
Just minutes before WWE announced this match, Los Matadores lost to Big E and Kofi Kingston.
Come SummerSlam, count on some fast-paced action. There will be plenty of high-flying offense as well. And like we've seen with these matches in the past, bet on some fun spots.
There's no depth to this matchup, though. It's just going to be a showcase of athletic skill with minimal narrative to go along with it.
Stephen Amell and Neville vs. Stardust and King Barrett
From an in-ring action standpoint, the tag title match will be better than this. Amell's WWE debut, however, will have much more of a spark.
There's a buzz around this matchup in spite of Barrett just randomly being thrown in there. In his showdown with Stardust on Monday's Raw, Amell showed aptitude for the craft. He displayed some athletic ability in leaping over the ring ropes and held his own in a promo with Triple H.
That kind of presence and his low-level celebrity will make this one of SummerSlam's most talked-about matches.
Don't count on it going long, however. Amell will be able to perform in spurts, but as a nonwrestler, he can't be asked to do much more than that.
Barrett's lack of momentum makes him feel like a cheap add-on. He's probably the one to take the pin here.
The passion that Stardust has put into his character as of late will boost this and makes the comic book-inspired feud click. His rivalry with Amell has been unfolding online mostly, but given some airtime on Monday night, it got hot in a hurry.
So there should be some electricity here, even if it's one of the shorter contests. Amell will get one big moment. Neville will provide highlights aplenty.
This won't be a classic by any stretch, but fun will be had.
Team B.A.D. vs. Team Bella vs. PCB (Elimination)
Should Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens be made official, that becomes the best bet to steal the show. Aside from that clash, though, the meeting of the women's division's three warring factions promises to be the night's thievery.
This is a showcase of the division and the direction it is going.
The elimination stipulation suggests that this will be long and have any number of subplots and mid-match narratives. Given time to properly develop, this promises to be a huge night for Sasha Banks, Naomi, Becky Lynch and all these women in the process of proving themselves worthy of the recent increase in airtime.
Fans long clamored for a substantial women's division, and now it's here, and now it's getting its chance to shine.
There's plenty of bad blood between all three teams. They have all looked strong as of late, as WWE has done a nice job of spreading around the wins. And if the story of the Bellas' regime is properly addressed, this will feel significant beyond just the "Divas Revolution" angle.
WWE has a number of options in front of it here, from having someone like Charlotte go on a tear to Team Bella executing a master strategy to cut down their opponents one by one.
It will be difficult to manage this many wrestlers in a single bout, but there's a strong chance this is a huge success.
You know that each woman involved has plenty to prove. They are representing an entire division and its potential overall. That's a recipe for some SummerSlam-worthy fireworks.
