Red Sox's Connor Wong Reveals Wild Weight Loss Due to Extremely Hot Weather During Nationals Game
Playing catcher in Major League Baseball is a grueling ask in even perfect conditions, and Boston Red Sox catcher Connor Wong had to do so in scorching heat for Wednesday's game against the Washington Nationals.
It took its toll.
He told reporters he lost six pounds in the heat and also said, "two jerseys, countless waters, some Pedialyte. Yeah, it was a hot one."

According to the report from Weather.com, it was a high of 96 degrees Wednesday in Boston. The team has a day off Thursday before it hits the road to face the Los Angeles Angels on Friday in the first of a three-game set.
The heat wasn't the only concern for Wong and the Red Sox on Wednesday, as they lost 10-2. He was a bright spot at the plate with two hits in four at-bats, but it wasn't enough to prevent yet another loss.
Boston is 37-48 and in last place in the American League East.
