5-Star WR Eric McFarland Announces Commitment Decision Between Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M
One of the top wide receivers in the class of 2027 has made his college decision.
Per Eli Lederman of ESPN, 5-star prospect Eric McFarland has committed to Texas A&M, choosing the Aggies over Georgia and Florida.
McFarland is entering his senior season at IMG Academy in Florida after reclassifying from the class of 2028. He's considered by 247Sports' composite rankings to be the No. 38 player in the country and the No. 6 wide receiver in the nation.
According to 247, he had 29 receptions for 595 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025.
Along with Texas A&M, Florida and Georgia, he held offers from Tennessee, Ohio State and more. He had unofficial visits with the Vols and Buckeyes earlier this spring, as well as an official visit to Tennessee. His most recent visit was to Texas A&M in late May.
McFarland ultimately trimmed his list down to the Aggies, Gators and Bulldogs before going with Texas A&M.
McFarland adds to what is already a stacked class of 2027 for Texas A&M. The Aggies already boast commits from 5-star offensive tackle and 5-star defensive lineman Zyron Forstall, along with several 4-star commits.
Texas A&M currently has the top-ranked 2027 recruiting class after putting together the 10th-best 2026 class.
The Aggies have never had an issue getting talent to College Station, but whether they can turn that talent into a championship roster is the question.
Texas A&M appears to be on the right path after reaching the College Football Playoff in Mike Elko's second season, and more talent on the way could lead to the Aggies winning their first national championship since 1939 soon.
