Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana Lead EA's College Football 27 Overall Team Power Rankings

Paul KasabianJun 23, 2026

Oregon is No. 1 on EA College Football 27's team power rankings at 91 overall, with Ohio State and Indiana just behind the Ducks at 90.

Oregon went 13-2 overall last year, with its only losses occurring to national champion Indiana in the regular season and then the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Ohio State went 12-2 last year. The Buckeyes started 12-0 but lost to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game before getting upset by Miami in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

Indiana, of course, finished a perfect 16-0, dominating the college football landscape en route to the program's first-ever national title.

All three teams look like they'll be powerhouses once again, fighting for the Big Ten title and the national championship.

Oregon returns quarterback Dante Moore, who could be a high NFL draft pick in 2027. He's playing behind a senior-laden offensive line and has plenty of weapons to work with, including tight end Jamari Johnson and wide receiver Dakorien Moore. The Ducks' defense looks legit as well led by stars such as defensive lineman A'Mauri Washington and edge Teitum Tuioti.

Ohio State returns wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, arguably college football's top player. Quarterback Julian Sayin is back, as is running back Bo Jackson. The Buckeyes' biggest question is on defense, as the team lost a host of top players to the NFL like Arvell Reese, Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs and eight starters overall. However, they bring some players back too, including Kenyatta Jackson Jr. and Jaylen McClain.

Indiana will have major changes on offense, with Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza going to the NFL and TCU transfer Josh Hoover replacing him. Hoover can sling it, though, and threw for 29 touchdowns (13 interceptions) and 3,472 yards last year (8.4 yards per attempt).

Indiana has experienced some changes on defense, but head coach Curt Cignetti liked what he saw in the spring.

"The depth and quality of the defense, this, in three years, would be the best spring defense we've had," Cignetti told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg last April. "This defense is much further along than the last two."

Overall, the Big Ten trio looks like it might rule college football once again, and the rankings reflect that. We'll find out soon enough how these teams fare when the season begins in a little over two months.
