Why Brock Lesnar Is a Lock to Screw Over Oba Femi in WWE King of the Ring Final
Brock Lesnar resuming his rivalry with Oba Femi sooner rather than later is arguably WWE's worst-kept secret right now.
Femi beating Lesnar as quickly and as decisively as he did at WrestleMania 42 was surprising. The Beast Incarnate returning to television so soon afterward to renew hostilities with The Ruler was equally surprising.
Lesnar avenging his loss to Femi at Clash in Italy was anything but, and the same can be said for The Beast costing his rival the King of the Ring finals. Not only is it inevitable, it's just not something a majority of WWE's audience is eager to see by any stretch.
Femi finds himself in a precarious position at the moment. He's ready to be elevated to the main event scene and world championship contention, but all signs point to WWE forcing him to finish his feud with Lesnar before moving on.
The Beast is about to screw over his archnemesis in the King of the Ring finals at Night of Champions on Saturday, and here's why.
Femi Keeps Calling Out Lesnar
1 of 5
Since losing to Lesnar at Clash in Italy, Femi hasn't been able to keep The Beast's name out of his mouth.
He has consistently cut promos on Raw putting Lesnar on notice, warning him that he will be waiting for when he returns to television now that the score has been evened. Oddly enough, he has yet to acknowledge that Lesnar only beat him at Clash in Italy because the former MMA star attacked him before the bell rang.
It's admirable that the Femi character isn't making any excuses for the defeat, but he does come across like a sore loser whenever he brings up Lesnar despite The Beast having no incentive to grant him a rubber match.
Lesnar has nothing to prove, whereas Femi would have more to gain from getting that win back.
If WWE was indeed putting their rivalry to rest for the foreseeable future, Femi wouldn't be mentioning Lesnar as often as he has been. It wants to ensure that fans keep their bad blood in mind so it makes more sense when Lesnar costs Femi the win in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
At that point, Femi will have no one to blame but himself, as Lesnar likely would have left well enough alone had The Ruler considered their score settled.
Femi's Loss to Lesnar Cannot Go Unanswered

WWE really should have had Femi defeat Lesnar as dominantly as he did at WrestleMania 42 and moved on with both men.
There was no reason for them to rekindle their rivalry coming out of the event, especially with The Beast's abrupt retirement being as exceptionally executed as it was.
The problem with them running it back was that there was always going to be a third match, even if Femi knocked off Lesnar again at Clash in Italy. The matches have delivered thus far, but Femi won't be in that much stronger of a spot once it's over than he already was in the wake of WrestleMania.
Extending the rivalry was not necessary.
Now that Femi has eaten his first loss courtesy of Lesnar, however, there's no way he can let that go unanswered.
If Femi were to win King of the Ring, that would automatically mean he isn't facing Lesnar again at SummerSlam, and there aren't any major events between now and then (it's doubtful Lesnar would wrestle at Saturday Night's Main Event). It's possible Femi could pull double duty between the two nights of SummerSlam, but that would be overkill and accomplish very little.
WWE isn't leaving Lesnar off the SummerSlam card in his home state of Minnesota, and it would be illogical for Lesnar to face anyone else but The Ruler in light of recent developments, so that has to be where the third match goes down.
Jey Uso Is In the Midst of a Renewed Singles Push

Jey Uso was very much portrayed as the main character of Raw throughout 2025, or at least for the first half of the year.
He won the men's Royal Rumble, walked out of WrestleMania 41 with the World Heavyweight Championship, and was a fixture toward the top of the card in the months that followed.
His return to the tag team ranks at the end of the year saw his singles stardom dwindle slightly, but ever since The Bloodline reformed post-WrestleMania 42, he's been back in the main event mix.
The underlying tension between him and the rest of the group indicates there's something significant in store for him this summer. He has made it clear in recent weeks that he intends to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam if he wins King of the Ring.
What if those comments were supposed to be a swerve and he actually has his sights set on avenging all of those one-on-one losses to Roman Reigns from over the years by beating him for the World Heavyweight Championship instead?
Regardless of the direction WWE goes with Uso here on out, the common denominator is that he's winning King of the Ring as part of the renewed singles push he's receiving right now—and that fans are going to have to accept it.
Femi Losing Clean to Uso Would Be Absurd
4 of 5
On paper, Femi vs. Uso is a total mismatch. Femi has been a one-man wrecking crew the entire time he's been on the main roster, with the only time he's been bested being because Lesnar cheated.
To his credit, Uso is WWE's ultimate underdog, and his whole gimmick is that he has proved his naysayers wrong time and time again. That said, the mere possibility of Femi losing to Uso clean is far-fetched.
Granted, Uso's victory over Gunther at WrestleMania 41 came in clean fashion, but it made sense with the story they told at the time. Femi has been much more unstoppable since arriving on the main roster, him losing his second match on back-to-back PLEs to Uso of all people would be absurd.
If Femi is tied up with Lesnar for the rest of the summer, and if WWE does intend on spotlighting "Main Event" Uso again, the only option is to have Jey win via interference from Lesnar.
Femi getting counted-out after being attacked by Lesnar would be ideal, but WWE is bound to have Uso pin The Ruler instead.
WWE Clearly Doesn't Want Femi Fighting for World Title Yet
5 of 5
Winning King of the Ring looked to be the next step of Femi's ascension following his WrestleMania win over Lesnar, but The Beast's return shortly thereafter immediately made it clear that wasn't going to happen.
Femi may still be seen as a fresh face on the roster, but he was ready for the world title picture from the moment he was called up. Not everyone needs to wait three to four years before finally winning a world championship, and not every world championship chase needs to be dragged out for years on end.
Lesnar was skyrocketed to upper echelon of WWE during his rookie year in 2002, and WWE should be following that same formula with Femi. Rather, it appears the promotion will be taking its time with him by keeping him busy with The Beast and whoever else until closer to WrestleMania 43.
The world heavyweight title scene is currently occupied by The Bloodline, Seth Rollins and potentially CM Punk once he returns to television.
WWE unfortunately insists on holding off on belting the white-hot Femi in favor of stories that could just as easily be told outside of the title scene, meaning he'll continue to be screwed out of opportunities and overlooked until the powers that be deem the time is right.
