Street Profits the Saviors of Tag Division?, Big Championship Mistake, More WWE Raw Fallout

Kevin BergeJun 23, 2026

The O2 Arena in London hosted the June 22 edition of WWE Raw on Netflix, where gold was on the line ahead of Night of Champions.

The Street Profits dethroned The Vision as World tag team champions while Lyra Valkyria turned on Bayley after they lost in their pursuit of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.

Oba Femi and Jey Uso, as well as Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky, met in the ring ahead of their King and Queen of the Ring matches.

This was an important night for WWE that delivered some interesting fallout ahead of a massive premium live event on Saturday.

The Street Profits Cannot Save the Tag Division Alone

1 of 5

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have reclaimed the World Tag Team Championships, and the tag team division on Raw feels like it is back on track.

However, that feeling could quickly turn sour if WWE does not capitalize on elevating The Street Profits to top-team status once again.

In 2025, the Profits held the WWE Tag Team Championships heading into WrestleMania 41, yet nothing came of the hype around a strong fresh division.

While Ford and Dawkins would go on to deliver a fantastic TLC match against DIY and Motor City Machine Guns that many believed should have happened at 'Mania, half of the men in that match are no longer in WWE.

The top teams on Raw at present include The Usos, The Judgment Day and Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee, yet all three tandems are wrestling singles more than as tag teams.

American Alpha and The Creed Brothers might reenter the conversation by riding Chad Gable's popularity, but that would take a concerted effort from WWE.

Ford and Dawkins are great, but they cannot run a division alone. They need strong creative that not only sets up challengers but also depth in the division for fresh matches to come through the summer.

Don't Overthink It, Oba Femi Must Dominate Jey Uso

Oba Femi

Oba Femi is the biggest rising star in WWE, and his booking is as easy as it gets.

The Ruler simply needs to remain strong. Keep him on TV and winning, and fans will buy into him against anyone.

That includes Roman Reigns. The crowd on Raw clearly was invested in the idea of Femi vs. Reigns at SummerSlam.

SummerSlam needs matches that can truly sell the biggest show of the summer, and The Tribal Chief defending against The Ruler is guaranteed money.

While Brock Lesnar returned and tied his series with Femi, a third match is not necessary right now.

Moreover, Jey is not in a position where he should be defeating The Ruler, even if there is interference to help him.

He may remain popular, but Jey is not as popular and is struggling to deliver in the big moments, including this week's faceoff with Femi.

WWE may be considering delaying Reigns vs. Femi for WrestleMania 43 while delivering Jey vs. Cody Rhodes, Femi vs. Lesnar and Reigns vs. Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.

However, none of those matches have the same weight and creative pull as putting Reigns up against the hottest star in WWE right now.

Lyra Valkyria Needed This Heel Turn

3 of 5

Lyra Valkyria may be the most underrated star on Raw right now.

While the women's division comes off as lacking for depth, The Valkyrie struggled for a reliable TV spot while developing an awkward alliance with Bayley.

Valkyria should have been pushed hard coming out of her feud with Becky Lynch, but she lost much of that steam with a lack of spotlight.

This should change following the dramatic heel turn of The Valkyrie. A solo heel run for Valkyria gives her more chances to talk and perform right away.

One of the best character elements for Valkyria was her brash confidence that can play even more as a villain where she will look to match the heat on Lynch and Liv Morgan in time.

She could be a great foil for women's intercontinental champion Sol Ruca or even Iyo Sky in time, but WWE must capitalize on the moment.

Valkyria has consistently performed when given opportunities and has only struggled when she is left with limited direction backstage.

Chad Gable Finally Paying Off Wasted American Alpha Story

Chad Gable, Maxxine Dupri and Otis.

Chad Gable vs. Otis was once one of WWE's most popular stories, yet it was an angle that was all hype and no payoff.

That time in 2024 may be long gone, but everyone involved still carries the potential of that angle.

Gable apologizing to American Alpha felt monumental despite the angle featuring mostly stars who can barely win on television.

Maxxine Dupri especially came off as a star when she rightly berated Gable for abandoning the group when it needed him most.

It was also a great foundational segment to get back to what made fans root for American Alpha in the past and buy into Gable and Otis' changing dynamic.

Time and again since his return to TV, Gable has made the most of his screen time, and fans have bought in. This is the time to rewrite the story of American Alpha.

Give veterans like Otis and Akira Tozawa a chance to shine for the first time in years. Allow Dupri to grow into a new heel role that will pit her against her friends.

Moreover, if done right, WWE can utilize Gable's popularity to not only help him but also everyone around him. That should always be the goal in wrestling.

Wrong Time to Unify Women's World Championship

Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky

Liv Morgan is likely about to win the Queen of the Ring tournament.

From the start, this has been a bad idea rooted in WWE's struggles to creatively present the women's division.

Especially given the struggles to put over both the women's United States and intercontinental titles, WWE may want less belts to worry about in the division.

However, this serves no purpose but taking responsibility away from creative. The women's division is too deep and talented to have just one world champion for both Raw and SmackDown.

Moreover, Morgan has done nothing to clearly earn the right to hold both titles while never defending her own gold.

Even if she wins Queen of the Ring, the end goal should be for her to lose in her pursuit of the WWE Women's Championship.

Rhea Ripley may be hurt given her recent absence, but if she is healthy enough by SummerSlam to defend her gold, there is no reason to take the title off her.

If WWE really wants to make the most of the division, though, Iyo Sky must win at Night of Champions, elevating the tension between Sky and Morgan as the top feud in women's wrestling.
