Oba Femi Will Be a Legendary KOTR Winner, Jacob Fatu Replacing Jey Uso, More WWE Raw Fallout
The CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore hosted the June 15 edition of WWE Raw on Netflix featuring King and Queen of the Ring semifinals action.
Oba Femi advanced to the KOTR finals by defeating Dominik Mysterio in impressive fashion, while Iyo Sky took down Raquel Rodriguez on her way to the QOTR finals.
Roman Reigns appeared to officially welcome Jacob Fatu to The Bloodline.
With less than two weeks before Night of Champions, this show highlighted the big matches to come and set the stage for two major tournament finals.
Oba Femi Will Go Down as All-Time Great King of the Ring
1 of 5Oba Femi is one step away from a dominant run to becoming King of the Ring, and this feels like a massive moment in WWE.
While KOTR has been around since 1985 and crowned 24 different winners, this is one of those rare times when it feels like WWE is crowning the next big thing.
That was true of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 1996 and Brock Lesnar in 2002.
The 25th King has a chance to follow a rare lineage and make the title feel more important than it has in 20-plus years.
WWE must not miss the mark by choosing anyone else as the next King of the Ring. Je'Von Evans will have his time in the future, and Jey Uso has already made it to the top.
Femi is the one most ready for this opportunity, and any other option would pale in comparison.
Jacob Fatu is Taking Jey Uso's Spot
2 of 5While Jey Uso had his time atop WWE in 2025, his star has fallen considerably since losing the World Heavyweight Championship.
One year later, Jey may be in the King of the Ring semifinals, but he does not feel like someone who can actually win the world championship again.
Even if he advances to the finals, fans are unlikely to buy Jey beating Oba Femi, even if The Ruler is in his first year on the main roster.
Meanwhile, Jacob Fatu has found a way to keep his personality while acknowledging Roman Reigns.
He is still vicious and dangerous and could eventually see through the common manipulations of The OTC.
When he does, The Samoan Werewolf can be even more popular, potentially carrying the same popularity Jey had at his height.
It is hard to imagine Jey carrying the same popularity, even if fans still rock with his song for the moment.
Iyo Sky is Forever Underrated
3 of 5Iyo Sky is on a roll, heading to the Queen of the Ring finals, to battle either Charlotte Flair or Liv Morgan.
Either option is a match worthy of a premium live event spotlight.
It is just a shame that WWE still cannot fully figure out how to use The Genius of the Sky on weekly television.
What is the point of having the best wrestler on your roster barely appear on television?
Win or lose, Sky should be in the ring nearly every week of the rest of the year. She needs to be featured in and out of the ring like Flair, Morgan, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch and others.
Anything else shows WWE still does not know just how good Sky is and what she can bring to a product in need of more established top stars.
WWE Finally Booking Je'Von Evans Right
4 of 5
Je'Von Evans became the ultimate underdog in NXT, fighting through long odds against the top names of the brand such as Ethan Page, Trick Williams and Oba Femi.
At each stage, the story of The Young OG was founded upon a simple storytelling premise: The smallest man in the fight can always have the biggest heart.
This has not been explored at all on Raw, yet it could be developed with a feud against The Vision. Evans trying to defeat Bron Breakker and Logan Paul would make him WWE's biggest underdog.
This is how the 22-year-old should be booked. He cannot just work random midcard matches against babyface opponents.
Once fans are invested in Evans' fight, he can start to build up to the big moments where fans will root for him to win the big one.
WWE Needs More Roxanne Perez Wins
5 of 5
In 2022 at just 20 years old, Roxanne Perez signed with WWE and instantly established herself as The Prodigy.
She was the face of NXT for several years before the main roster came calling, more than selling herself in the ring and as a character worker.
Four years on, though, Perez has never felt more directionless. She is just waiting for a turn that may not come.
There is no reason to wait. The company needs more relevant names at the top of the card, and few have been more consistent with their work in WWE recently.
If WWE makes The Prodigy a world champion in 2026, she can be a world champion many times over the next decade.
Wasting time only leaves the women's division even thinner at the top when this should be the best division in all of wrestling.
More than even a championship run, Perez needs wins. She needs to look credible next to the usual names and have a believable chance against anyone.
Unpredictability makes matches and stories more interesting. Right now, there is nothing unpredictable about The Prodigy's booking.
