WWE SummerSlam 2015: Smart Builds for PPV's Top Feuds
The 2015 edition of SummerSlam is one of the biggest in recent history due to the star power on the card, but it is imperative that WWE books the top storylines well in order to maximize the pay-per-view's impact.
From a proper build to the battle between Undertaker and Brock Lesnar to the storytelling needed to build hype for John Cena vs. Seth Rollins, WWE programming's next two weeks will be crucial to the August PPV's success.
This is how WWE should book the top feuds heading into SummerSlam.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
Neither Brock Lesnar nor Undertaker is currently scheduled for Monday’s episode of Raw, so the WWE Universe should be ready for replays of the pull-apart brawl from several weeks ago. At best, fans should be hoping for a Paul Heyman promo.
In all likelihood, the build to this battle will all take place next week when both men are advertised for an appearance on the August 17 episode of Raw. The question is how the company handles the legends on the go-home show.
A contract signing is a tried-and-true wrestling staple, but that doesn’t have the aura needed to contain Lesnar and Undertaker. The fans have already seen the men go face to face in a punching exchange, so it’s time for something different.
Heyman has done a great job humanizing Undertaker, but it’s time for the Deadman to pull out some of his classic tricks. From lightning strikes to caskets, Undertaker must do something terrifying to get inside Lesnar's mind.
A SummerSlam go-home show with a classic Undertaker segment would be excellent.
Seth Rollins vs. John Cena
Regardless of how WWE books the outcome of the title vs. title match between WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins and United States champion John Cena, the build to the match should feature Rollins running his mouth constantly.
Rollins legitimately broke Cena’s nose with a knee strike to the face, and the uncertainty surrounding whether Cena will accept the champion’s challenge is the main focus of this week’s episode of Raw. Instead of letting Cena answer, Rollins must come out and again tell the WWE Universe how he broke the U.S. champion’s nose.
WWE should have run with the damage Cena’s face suffered. Last week on Raw, Rollins should have won his match against Neville by smashing him in the face with a knee and setting up the pedigree. Hopefully, WWE has Rollins hit the knee strike and win a match with the move this week.
Over the last two weeks leading up to the event, Cena should come out and talk about how he may not be medically cleared for the PPV. With anticipation building about whether he will wrestle, this match could become something all fans care about before Cena is finally allowed to wrestle.
Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper
Over the next two weeks, the WWE creative team will be looking to add excitement and intrigue to the tag team match between Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns against Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.
The key to increasing excitement will be adding another member to the Wyatt Family. One of the most interesting parts of any stable is the addition of new members, and Bray and his brother adding another family member would stack the odds in their favor heading into SummerSlam.
Whether it’s Solomon Crowe, Adam Rose as Leo Kruger or someone else, it would be an interesting twist over the next two weeks as the heels take the advantage in the upcoming PPV match. This also sets the stage for a bigger swerve to come.
With Reigns and Ambrose heading into the PPV with the man advantage, the stage would be set for Sting to make a dramatic appearance to even the odds. WWE fans can hope, can’t they?
