Cutler Biggest Downer in Week 1?
One week into the 2009-2010 NFL season, and Bears fan already want Cutler out. Now maybe not all Bears fans, but at least some know that this isn't a one game season, it's a 16 game season, and one game isn't enough to judge the star QB. Jay Cutler showed how he can turn into Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in the matter of one game. This was expected from him; we knew what we were getting, a gunslinger, just like Brett Favre. You will get interceptions, but you will also get a lot of touchdowns sometimes. Even thought he played poorly, he wasn't the worst and he definitely wasn't the only big name quarterback to lose.
Here are some of the other quarterbacks who had down games:

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
1. Jake Delhomme QB Carolina Panthers: 7-17, 73 yards, 4 INTs, 1 fumble, 14.7 Passer Rating
The veteran QB showed that his play at the end of last year may still be haunting him. He looked like he was afraid to throw the ball, and when he did throw it, he couldn't tell the difference between a WR and DB. He should play better than that, but too many more, and his days in Carolina are done.
2. Matthew Stafford QB Detroit Lions: 16-37, 205 yards, 3 INTs, 27.4 Passer Rating
I'm not putting him on here to say he play horrible, its just his stats weren't good. He played about as well as he could, it's tough to watch a QB throw for 6 touchdowns, and to not try and throw that many also. The Lions were down, and they tried using Stafford's arm as a way to get back in the game. It didn't work out, but as a rookie in his first game against a not so bad Saints team, he did alright.
3. Carson Palmer QB Cincinnati Bengals: 21-33, 247 yards, 2 INTs, 61.0 Passer Rating
For a guy who is supposed to be one of the better pocket passers in the league, and for a guy who is supposed to be fully healthy, Carson Palmer looked almost like Jordan Palmer. The guy doesn't have T.J. Houshmandzadeh, which hurts, but the great ones can make plays with average wide receivers. He had a great last drive, but when you can't do that more than once again a Denver Broncos team in a mess, something is wrong.
4. Kurt Warner QB Arizona Cardinals: 26-44, 288 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 67.2 Passer Rating
Kurt Warner looked like age had caught up to him, or life is telling him to go bag groceries (Madden NFL 10 Achievement). He threw the ball too much for 38 year old QB against a good, not great San Francisco 49ers defense. He couldn't connected consistently with his two main targets: Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. The running game wasn't there again, and Warner can't throw the ball that many times all season. Last year may have been all that was left in the tank for Warner. I hope not, but age is a funny thing in the NFL.
Now you're probably wondering what does all this have to do with Cutler. Well, I'm just trying to say that some really good quarterbacks didn't play well against some defenses that really aren't that good, or they were at least solid defenses at best. The Bears played a reenergized defense in the Packers, and the Bears haven't seen them play defense like that in a while. Cutler will be fine, maybe not over the first three games, but after that, it's lights out for teams facing him and the Bears. I hope he pulls through along with all the other quarterbacks that had trouble this weekend.
Hope you enjoy, and comments are greatly appreciated.
