Emanating from U.S. Open venue Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, for the first time ever, the 2026 edition of Double or Nothing is shaping up to be one of the biggest in the history of the event.

Nearly all of AEW's top stars will be in action and nearly all of the company's top championships will be on the line as well.

Headlining the show is an AEW Championship match that will see Darby Allin put up the title and MJF put up his hair, plus Stadium Stampede returns and the Owen Hart Cup tournaments begin.

Top Double or Nothing Matches to Watch

Darby Allin vs. MJF

About one month after losing the AEW World Championship to Darby Allin in shocking fashion, MJF will get his chance at redemption this weekend at Double or Nothing.

Allin has had several successful title defenses in the weeks since blitzing MJF en route to his first AEW world title win, much to the chagrin of MJF, who was trying for weeks to get his rematch.

While Allin finally agreed, he only did so on the condition that MJF put his hair on the line, which significantly ups the stakes for an already huge match.

MJF was no match for Allin in what was essentially a squash loss last month, but the hair stipulation adds a sense of urgency that should make for a far more competitive bout.

At the end of the night, there will be either a new champ or a bald MJF, and either scenario would send shockwaves through AEW.

Stadium Stampede

Since returning to AEW programming last month, Chris Jericho has been held down by Ricochet and The Demand, but he will be out for retribution at Double or Nothing.

After losing to Ricochet in his return match at Dynasty, Jericho wanted a rematch, but Ricochet was only willing to do it as part of a Stadium Stampede, which is one of the most rare, unique and chaotic match types in AEW history.

There have only been three Stadium Stampede matches, and Sunday will mark the first one in nearly three years.

Jericho took part in the first two Stadium Stampede matches, perhaps giving him and his squad a sizable advantage over Ricochet and his team.

Since Jericho has a star-studded unit that includes additional Stadium Stampede veterans in The Elite, there is seemingly a great chance that the former AEW world champ will finally get the revenge he has been seeking.

Cage & Cope vs. FTR

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will attempt to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships and avoid the dissolution of their partnership forever when they meet FTR in an I Quit match at Double or Nothing.

Cage and Cope fell short in their previous attempt to take the titles from FTR, and in order to get a rematch, they had to agree that they would break up as a team forever in the event of a loss to FTR at Double or Nothing.

The two previous matches pitting Cage and Cope against FTR have been entertaining, but the third time figures to be a charm due to the stipulations involved, as an I Quit match will allow them to do essentially anything they desire.

Cage and Cope are known for thriving in a hardcore environment during their many years as a team, and Double or Nothing should be no different.

It would be a shock if Cage and Cope come out on the losing end, but even though the result feels predictable, it should be a highly enjoyable encounter nonetheless.
