Wednesday Highlights

No. 8 Mississippi State 12, No. 16 Missouri 2

Mississippi State left little doubt in the first game of the day.

The Bulldogs won via run-rule with the game being called after 6.5 innings due to their commanding 12-2 advantage over Missouri. Vytas Valincius led the way with two home runs and four RBI, while Ryder Woodson launched a three-run homer as well.

Both of Valincius' long balls came during an eight-run outburst in the sixth inning that put the game away.

That was more than enough run support for Tomas Valincius, who allowed just one earned run and struck out eight in six innings of work.

No. 5 Florida 8, No. 12 Vanderbilt 3

Vanderbilt is typically a baseball powerhouse, but its relatively disappointing 2026 campaign will not include a deep run in the SEC tournament following Wednesday's 8-3 loss to Florida.

The Gators' power was on full display as Brendan Lawson, Blake Cyr and Hayden Yost each went deep. The homer was part of a dominant overall day from Cyr, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and one run scored.

Cade Kurland also drove in two runs.

Florida's bullpen also impressed as Jackson Barberi, Ernesto LugoCanchola and Luke McNeillie didn't give up a single run in 4.1 combined innings.

No. 7 Arkansas 8, No. 10 Tennessee 4

The Vols' offense couldn't replicate its performance from Wednesday night as Arkansas ended Tennessee's run.

The Razorbacks came out hot, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Arkansas added another run in the third to make it a quick 5-0 lead.

Tennessee wasn't completely out of it just yet, as the Vols managed to put a pair of runs on the board in the fourth inning and added another in the top of the fifth, but Arkansas responded with a three-run bottom of the fifth.

That gave the Razorbacks enough insurance to cruise to a win.

Arkansas right fielder Zack Stewart was the MVP on Wednesday as he notched two home runs and three RBI, continuing what has been a tremendous recent stretch for him.

The Razorbacks will now get a matchup against Texas in the quarterfinals on Friday.

No. 6 Auburn 3, No. 14 LSU 1

Auburn is looking for its first SEC tournament title since 1998, and the Tigers got one step closer on Wednesday.

It wasn't exactly an offensive showcase, but they had just enough to outlast LSU.

Both teams went scoreless through the first three innings, but each tacked on a run in the fourth. Auburn then took the lead in the fifth thanks to an error from LSU.

Auburn added some insurance in the sixth when Eric Guevara went yard.

While Auburn's offense didn't do much after the sixth, its defense kept LSU off the board to secure the win.

The defending national champion LSU needed a deep run to help its chances of making the NCAA tournament, and it didn't exactly get that this year. Whether the Tigers' season will continue beyond Wednesday remains to be seen.
