Scottie Scheffler Shoots 2nd-Round 71, Stays In Contention to Repeat as PGA Championship Winner
Scottie Scheffler remained in contention to repeat as winner of the PGA Championship after shooting a 1-over 71 during Friday's second round at Aronimink Golf Club.
Scheffler, who finished Thursday's opening with a share of the lead at 3-under par, now sits at 2-under through 36 holes.

After struggling early in other recent tournaments including the Masters, Scheffler said Thursday night the opening round of the PGA Championship was "definitely" his best start of the year.
He was unable to keep that momentum going to start Round 2 as he carded three bogeys in his first four holes.
After hitting 13 of 14 fairways in his opening round, Scheffler started Friday 0-of-6 run before reaching his first fairway on his ninth hole.
Despite those struggles, the defending champion started to bounce back with a birdie on No. 17 to make the turn at 2-over par after starting his day off the 10th tee.
Scheffler continued chipping away with another birdie on No. 4.
Two holes later, however, he recorded his fourth bogey of the day at No. 6.
Scheffler had two birdie opportunities on his next two holes, including a potential birdie putt that ended up inches short on No. 7, but ended up making par both times.
He finally was able to take advantage on No. 9 with a birdie on his final hole of the day.
Should Scheffler regain a share of the lead this weekend, it wouldn't be even close to his biggest comeback push of the season.
After sitting 12 strokes back of the lead through two rounds at the Masters in April, Scheffler went two straight rounds without a bogey to ultimately finish one stroke back of winner Rory McIlroy.
Scheffler will now look to build on that experience by mounting a charge during Saturday's third round as he looks to snap his streak of three straight finishes as the solo runner-up.
