
Garrick Higgo Reacts to Penalty for Being Late to PGA Championship Tee Time in New Trending Video
Garrick Higgo dug a hole for himself in the 2026 PGA Championship before he took a single shot.
Higgo was scheduled to go off at 7:18 a.m. ET on Thursday along with Shaun Micheel and Michael Brennan. However, he didn't get to the tee until 7:19 a.m., which resulted in a two-shot penalty:

Thanks to losing two strokes, the South African double-bogeyed the first hole, and that was close to the best-case scenario on the 432-yard par-four opener.
Higgo managed to get back to even par as he made the turn to the back nine with birdies on No. 3 and 9. A bogey on the 10th hole dropped him back to one over, though.
Whether at the highest level or during a weekend round with friends, any golfer knows the importance of adhering to a tee time. If you're on time, you're pretty much late.
The PGA of America Rule Committee said Higgo "was on the practice putting green but was not within the area defined as the starting point at his starting time."
The 27-year-old sits 85th in the Official World Golf Ranking heading into the PGA Championship. He has had a tough PGA Tour season so far with seven missed cuts in 12 events. His best finish was tying for 40th in February's Cognizant Classic.
