Cope & Cage Beat FTR for Tag Titles
The action didn't stop with MJF's win, however. Kevin Knight made an appearance and attacked Allin, who was on a stretcher:
Sunday's bout was a rematch from the Spring BreakThru edition of Dynamite on April 15, which shockingly saw Allin beat MJF in quick and dominant fashion to become AEW world champ for the first time.
In the weeks that followed, Allin was a true fighting champion with successful defenses over the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Brody King, Kevin Knight, Pac and Konosuke Takeshita.
MJF pushed for a rematch on several occasions, but Allin instead granted title bouts to wrestlers he deemed more worthy of them than MJF.
Allin finally relented, but only on the condition that MJF put something important to him on the line, and Allin decided that MJF's hair would suffice.
Before Double or Nothing, Allin had one last title defense against Takeshita, and once that was successful, he and MJF signed the contract for their clash at the pay-per-view.
A tense confrontation led to MJF punching Allin with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF was about to hit Allin with a Tombstone off the ropes as well, but Knight ran down to make the save and prevent a potential injury.
With that, the rivalry between MJF and Allin reached a fever pitch entering Double or Nothing, adding to what was already a high-stakes match.
Ultimately, MJF returned to the top of the mountain by becoming AEW world champion for a third time, ending Allin's entertaining title reign after just over one month.
