Ronda Rousey Explains Why Carano Will Likely Be Final Fight of Her Career, 'Perfect Way to End It'
Ronda Rousey's highly anticipated return fight against Gina Carano on Saturday in the main event of Netflix's first MMA card appears to be her swan song in combat sports.
During her appearance on Monday's episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, Rousey told Uncrowned's Ariel Helwani that she has no plans of seeking other fights after Saturday's showdown against Carano, as she's hoping to continue growing her family.
"This is the peak, I can't go higher than this. This is the dream fight. This is the absolute pinnacle, I think, for me," Rousey said. "This is the perfect way to end it."
If Rousey is successful against Carano on Saturday, she undoubtedly would garner interest for future fights and a potential return to the UFC. However, the 39-year-old reiterated that she doesn't have any desire to prolong her comeback to MMA.
"There will always be fights, but it's like, there's so many series where you're like, they peaked in this season, they should've just ended it then," she said. "There's nothing bigger than this, this is it, and I think that anything other than that would just be dragging the series out too long, and I think we need to end at the peak."
