Watch UCLA's Megan Grant Make NCAA History, Set Single-Season HR Record in Trending Video
UCLA senior Megan Grant made college softball history during Saturday's Big Ten tournament championship game loss to Nebraska.
Grant hit her 38th home run of the season in the third inning to set a new D-I single-season record.
The previous standard had stood for 31 years since it was set by Arizona's Laura Espinoza in 1995.
Grant had tied Epinoza's previous record on Friday during UCLA's Big Ten tournament semifinal win against Wisconsin.
Her historic home run on Saturday gave UCLA an early 2-0 lead, although the Bruins ultimately conceded a 7-2 title game loss as Jordy Frahm threw a complete game for Nebraska.
Nebraska head coach Rhonda Revelle could be seen congratulating Grant after the Huskers' win:
Grant entered Saturday hitting .475 with a 1.345 slugging percentage through 55 games of her senior season.
Earlier this spring, Grant appeared in 14 games for the UCLA women's basketball team that won the 2025-26 national championship.
Grant will now look to secure a second title with the Bruins after the 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket is revealed Sunday on ESPN.
