Rory McIlroy Jokes He Got 'A Little S--t' for Comments on Masters Champion's Dinner Menu Choices
Two-time defending Masters champion Rory McIlory told Jason and Travis Kelce he got some pushback from his fellow countrymen after jokingly criticizing Irish food ahead of his Masters Champions dinner at Augusta National.
"I had a few people from the homeland... I got a little s--t from back home for that," McIlroy told the Kelce brothers around the 53:30 mark of Wednesday's New Heights podcast.
McIlroy's menu for the Masters Champions Dinner, which took place on April 7, featured items like peach and ricotta flatbread, tuna carpaccio and filet mignon.

"People keep asking me, 'Why didn't you go more Irish?' And I say, 'Because I want to enjoy the dinner as well,'" McIlroy joked ahead of the event.
McIlroy became the fourth player, and the first since Tiger Woods in 2002, to win consecutive Masters with a 12-under finish at Augusta National.
He will return to the PGA Tour for the first time since the Masters this weekend at the Truist Championship, which is set to start Thursday at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.
