New WWE Top 10 Rankings for Men and Women's Superstars Right Now

Erik BeastonMay 6, 2026

The landscape in WWE changed at WrestleMania 42, with new champions emerging, fresh storylines kicking off, and some Superstars riding waves of momentum into the spring and summer.

Ahead of a Backlash premium live event that is likely to continue that trend, find out which men and women have left the greatest mark on WWE over the last month with our rankings, based on in-ring victories, creative direction, and overall momentum.

Men's Rankings 10-6

1 of 12
Monday Night RAW

10. Seth "Freakin" Rollins

The Visionary has had a rough go of it since returning to WWE, both creatively and inside the squared circle. After a tough WrestleMania loss to Gunther, thanks to interference from the returning Bron Breakker, the future Hall of Famer has spent the last three weeks as the unofficial tackling dummy for The Badass. A win at Backlash would certainly help his momentum and placement in these rankings.

9. "All Ego" Ethan Page

Undefeated since his call-up to the main roster, the former NXT and North American champion has quickly inserted himself into the Intercontinental Championship picture as a top threat to Penta and his title reign. He has become one of the most entertaining villains on Monday nights, setting himself up for a potentially huge rest of 2026.

8. Finn Balor

The Demon returned at WrestleMania and demolished Dominik Mysterio on the grand stage. A win over JD McDonagh the following night was enough to earn Balor this place in the men's top 10, and his continuing rivalry with The Judgment Day should keep him around as the former Universal champion remains as hot as he has been in years.

7. Bron Breakker

The Badass does not have a signature win since his return, so his placement above Page and Balor may be controversial, but there is no denying his role on Monday nights and how much momentum he has on his side entering the Backlash premium live event. He has consistently gotten over on Rollins, looked dominant while doing so, and has speared his way back into the conversation for wrestling's brightest young star.

6. Oba Femi

The Ruler obliterated Brock Lesnar in one of the most grandiose displays of physical dominance ever at WrestleMania, and while the follow-up has not been as strong as one would have hoped, hence his placement outside of the top five, one cannot ignore how hot Femi is, with an argument to be made that he could be world champion today if necessary.

Women's Rankings 10-6

2 of 12
SmackDown

10. Jade Cargill

Conspicuous by her absence since losing the WWE Women's Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania, Cargill clings to a spot in the top 10, thanks in large part to the current, lackluster state of the women's division. Her inevitable return should result in her jumping right back into title contention but until that happens, this may be her last dance with the top 10.

9. Stephanie Vaquer

Like Cargill, Vaquer has been out of action since WrestleMania, though her absence is the result of a shoulder injury that will keep her out of action for the foreseeable future. Barring a sudden return, this, too, could be La Primera's last appearance in these rankings until she is back and reclaiming the women's world title that she lost to Liv Morgan on the grand stage.

8. Roxanne Perez

Don't look now, but WWE Creative is positioning The Prodigy as a major contender for Liv Morgan's Women's World Championship in the near future. The former NXT women's champion has found herself in Morgan's crosshairs, with her loyalty to The Judgment Day called into question. So far, she has proven herself, but the time when she is either excommunicated or stands up for herself will eventually occur, and with it, so too will Perez's elevated star power.

7. Jacy Jayne

The former NXT women's champion has wasted little time leaving an impression on fans and in the SmackDown women's division, quickly establishing herself as a contender to Rhea Ripley's WWE Women's Championship by way of her main roster debut match with The Eradicator and her victory over Charlotte Flair on the May 1 episode. The leader of the red-hot Fatal Influence trio, she is instantly developing into the lead heel on Fridays.

6. Asuka

The most dangerous woman on the roster, Asuka enters Backlash on Sunday for a marquee match-up against Iyo Sky, the culmination of a months-long rivalry. Monday on Raw, she blinded the former women's world championship, further escalating their issues and setting up one of the most intense matches on the premium live event. How she comes out of Backlash and what she does after the show will dictate whether she stays in the top 10 or slides out of it.

Men's No. 5: Trick Williams

3 of 12
WrestleMania 42

Trick Williams paid off his momentous road to WrestleMania 42 by defeating Sami Zayn and winning the United States Championship.

Immensely popular and clearly one of the brightest young stars on the roster, Williams enters Backlash for a rematch with Zayn that should further establish him in his new role, even if WWE Creative is (inadvertently) trying to cool him down with the Gingerbread Man storyline nonsense.

Williams should win Saturday night, in a match that will be broadcast for free on ESPN 2, increasing the number of viewers who will watch him and his undeniable in-ring presence and charisma. That should be more than enough to secure his spot on this list and in the top five, for a while.

Women's No. 5: Iyo Sky

4 of 12
Monday Night RAW

While it is still inconceivable that Sky was left off the WrestleMania 42 card, the former women's world champion has made up for it through a banger of a match against women's intercontinental champion Becky Lynch and is set for the sole women's contest on the Backlash card with her grudge match against Asuka.

While The Empress of Tomorrow's prospects are less clear coming out of that match, Sky figures to remain a vital part of the Raw women's division, with unfinished business against Lynch and a potential rivalry with Liv Morgan over the women's world title awaiting her.

One of, if not the best, wrestler in all of WWE, Sky will be a focal point throughout the summer and should stick firmly in the top five, barring any creative slumps or other mind-boggling business decisions.

Men's No. 4: Penta

5 of 12
Monday Night RAW

The reigning Intercontinental Champion remains one of the top men's competitors in all of WWE, despite a healthy crop of challengers chasing his gold weekly.

Exhibiting cero miedo in his victory at WrestleMania 42 in a Ladder Match also involving Je'Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Rey Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Rusev, Penta earned his top-five spot in these rankings and has done nothing since to lose it.

While Ethan Page and Rusev have left him lying more than once, he remains champion. Until one of those Superstars dethrones him, his argument for a position this high on the countdown is justified. As long as he remains as popular as he is, and as frequently used on Monday nights, it may be even if he drops the gold.

One of the best workers in the company, he has been consistently booked and utilized as any other Superstar on the roster and a workhorse for the promotion.

Women's No. 4: Tiffany Stratton

6 of 12
SmackDown

All Stratton did to answer her absence from the WrestleMania card was defeat Giulia and win the Women's United States Championship on the April 24 episode of Raw, rebuilding momentum for herself in a post-Mania WWE.

While there is an argument to be made that it is not quite Tiffy Time like it was a year ago at this time, she has rebounded nicely. It will be interesting to see if there are plans for the former gymnast or if this title reign is a consolation prize of sorts, a "our bad" for not having something of greater importance to do at the most important time of the year.

Either way, she defeated a premier competitor, did it cleanly, and added a new championship to her resume. It is tough to argue against that and a spot in the top five.

Men's No. 3: Jacob Fatu

7 of 12
Monday Night RAW

The Samoan Werewolf defeated Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42 and immediately built on that victory by confronting Roman Reigns the next night on Raw and establishing himself as the top contender to the World Heavyweight Championship.

Since then, he has been at the forefront of the most intriguing storyline in WWE as he fights for his family and personal wealth against his cousin and the Bloodline that has taken it all for themselves.

Long capable of a spot this high up the card, Fatu has the chance Saturday night in Tampa to establish himself as a main event Superstar, against the most prominent star in the company. It does not get any bigger for him, and if he excels, look for him to become a mainstay at or near the top of these rankings.

Women's No. 3: Becky Lynch

8 of 12
Monday Night RAW

The Man came around at WrestleMania 42, defeating AJ Lee to regain the Women's Intercontinental Championship. Since then, she has battled Iyo Sky in a banger, and this past Monday on Raw, she interrupted Sol Ruca's contract signing to set up a feud with the incoming main roster call-up.

The greatest women's wrestler of all time, Lynch has continued to set the standard between the ropes and on the mic, where she throws herself into her character, champions her greatness, but does so in a way that still puts over the women she is working with.

Look no further than Ruca, who will absolutely benefit from working with Lynch and become a bigger star because of it. Big Time Becks, win or lose, remains as relevant, over, and important to the women's division in WWE as ever.

Men's No. 2: Cody Rhodes

9 of 12
SmackDown

The American Nightmare successfully retained the Undisputed WWE Championship over Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42 and sent Pat McAfee packing in the process. If that second part is not worth a No. 2 spot in this countdown, nothing is.

It has been a relatively quiet post-WrestleMania for Rhodes, though he has had two championship programs teased via confrontations with Gunther and CM Punk.

The eye injury suffered on the grand stage is the likely reason he does not have a match for Backlash, but with The Ring General breathing down his neck, and the Best in the World hinting at the long-awaited contest, expect Rhodes' presence on the show to heat back up as the summer arrives.

Women's No. 2: Liv Morgan

10 of 12
Monday Night RAW

Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer to capture the Women's World Championship at WrestleMania 42 and cap off her momentous run to the grand stage, then spoiled Sol Ruca's first official main roster match 24 hours later on Raw with a victory.

Along the way, she has established herself as the undisputed leader of The Judgment Day, hinted at friction with Roxanne Perez, and set herself up for one of the biggest runs of her career over the rest of 2026.

Once the forgotten member of the Riott Squad, then the "other woman" in many of her most notable rivalries, Morgan is undeniably a star and well deserving of her current run as both champion and boss lady of the most successful and enduring faction on Monday Night Raw.

Men's No. 1: Roman Reigns

11 of 12
Monday Night RAW

The OTC is back on the mountaintop following a WrestleMania 42 win over CM Punk in an instant classic main event that should have gone a long way in silencing critics of his in-ring work.

Since then, the Tribal Chief has shown up to every episode of Raw on the road to Backlash, where he will defend against his cousin, Jacob Fatu, in an intensely personal marquee match-up.

Reigns figures to retain his gold and continue his reign with the World Heavyweight Championship, setting up a summer of Bloodline escalation with both the Usos and Fatu, as well as anyone who dares challenge his spot as the Head of the Table.

Someone, perhaps, like Seth Rollins, who defiantly told Reigns, "you're in my way," Monday night, hinting at more than just the physical confrontation?

Women's No. 1: Rhea Ripley

12 of 12
SmackDown

Mami is back on top following her WrestleMania 42 victory over Jade Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship.

The top woman on the SmackDown roster, she has since become the target of Fatal Influence and Jacy Jayne, who wants to establish herself as the centerpiece of her new women's division, as she did in NXT.

Ripley has been forced to look to Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for back-up, two women she has little in common with, especially the latter, with whom she has had some of her toughest battles.

The top woman in the company, with visibility far beyond the confines of WWE programming, the title only serves as a representation of that status. How she defends it against Jayne, Flair, Bliss, Cargill, and anyone else who steps up to her will determine how long she stays at the top of this particular list.
